What D2L ePortfolio is

D2L ePortfolio, also known as Brightspace ePortfolio, gives learners a place to collect, arrange, and share evidence of learning. Items can include documents, graphics, audio, video, presentations, and coursework. Learners decide which items to include and how to organize them, then grant others permission to view, edit, comment on, or assess shared work.

Presentations combine selected items into multipage web projects for showing learning and accomplishments. Feedback can include comments and rubric assessments on artifacts, collections, reflections, presentations, and learning objectives, depending on permissions. Learners can submit ePortfolio items to Brightspace assignments for assessment; the assignment receives a copy, so later changes to the ePortfolio item do not update what was submitted. A Google Drive file selector can be used when an administrator enables the integration and the institution has a Google Workspace license.

The mobile application works with institutional or myDesire2Learn ePortfolio services and requires suitable authentication and a wireless connection. D2L says Brightspace serves K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and corporate learning environments. Brightspace pricing is customized around factors such as user count, features, implementation timeline, services and support, and integrations. D2L says Brightspace Portfolio is intended to replace legacy Brightspace ePortfolio and recommends against using both in one course at the same time.
