Casely turns software requirements into QA test cases through a conversation with Claude. You can provide PDF, DOCX, XLSX, TXT, or Markdown files, or paste text. Before generating cases, it proposes coverage by module, estimates case counts, and points out gaps in the specification; it waits for approval before proceeding. Test design methods include equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, decision tables, state transitions, and error guessing. Casely exports the results to one Excel file and separate Markdown files. It can follow the columns, their order, tone, and ID scheme in an existing test-case file, and Excel exports are described as importable into TestRail, Qase, Zephyr, and Xray. If requirements identify API endpoints, Casely can produce a Postman collection, an environment file, and run instructions. It asks for API documentation rather than inventing missing endpoints. The QA skill is free and open source under the MIT license, and runs with Claude Code, claude.ai, or the Claude desktop app. A browser version with file uploads and team review is in early access.

Who it is for

Casely is aimed at QA engineers and the leads who review their work. It may suit teams that want requirements converted into reviewable test cases and exports that follow an existing test-case format.

What is good

  • Accepts five document formats or pasted text.
  • Flags specification gaps before generating cases.
  • Uses several named test-design methods.
  • Exports Excel and individual Markdown case files.
  • Free and open source under the MIT license.

What to know first

  • Image-only scanned PDFs may not extract cleanly.
  • Browser version with uploads and team review is early access.
  • API cases require identified endpoints or API documentation.

Verdict

Casely offers a structured path from requirements to test cases, with a review step before generation and exports for common QA workflows. The browser version remains in early access, and scanned image-only PDFs may not extract cleanly.
