Freedom251 › Container Development Environments
Canopy

What Canopy is
Canopy is a native macOS application for running local development environments in Docker. It detects a project's framework and can create the site, database, environment template, SSL certificate, and hosts entry for that project. The app includes Docker services such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Typesense, Meilisearch, OpenSearch, Qdrant, RabbitMQ, MinIO, Mailpit, Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki. Twelve nginx templates cover Laravel, PHP, static sites, SPAs, Vite, Node, Django, FastAPI, Flask, and Python. PHP-FPM runtimes from 8.1 through 8.5 can be selected per site. Canopy can place existing Vite, Next, and Nuxt development servers behind domains and HTTPS, create trusted local certificates, and apply per-site CORS rules. Its dashboard reports host, Docker, and container resource use while detecting configuration drift and restart loops. A visual nginx editor, IDE and terminal integrations, and a CLI exposing UI functions are included. Canopy is in an invite-only private beta; pricing is hidden, with a 14-day trial available.
