Overview

Beonflow is a web platform for investor administration and compliance at German venture-capital funds. It is aimed at first- and second-fund managers prepared to join a limited private beta. Its focused investor workflows and reporting are useful, but the absence of fund bookkeeping leaves an important part of fund operations elsewhere.

Key features

The live investor module brings together LP registers, capital calls, distributions, capital account statements and an LP portal, alongside capital account tracking and allocation waterfalls. That coverage can consolidate recurring investor administration; it does not replace bookkeeping. KYC/AML workflows include screening against PEP, sanctions and adverse-media lists, with evidence packages for compliance work.

Fund data can be used to generate investor, NAV and performance reports, with PDF and CSV export. AI extracts and cites information from fund documents, while a person must approve AI-assisted decisions before they take effect. Customers can disable AI per tenant and choose the provider, and customer data is not used to train models. These controls give managers options over AI use, but the human approval step means AI does not make decisions autonomously.

Beonflow runs on STACKIT, with data centres exclusively in Germany and Austria; fund data is encrypted at rest and in transit. STACKIT infrastructure holds ISO/IEC 27001 and BSI C5 Type 2 certifications, while Beonflow says application certification is planned for Q3/2027. The product describes immutable audit logging, MFA for critical actions and separate preparation and approval roles. Beonflow acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR, with a data processing agreement available on request.

Investor records, documents and reports can be exported in CSV, PDF or JSON, and tenant data is deleted within 30 days after termination. The planned Ledger module is intended to add double-entry bookkeeping and DATEV export, but until it is included, managers need another way to handle fund books.

Pricing

The Private beta design partner plan costs nothing during the private beta. It is restricted to a limited group of German VC funds, and commercial pricing is planned to scale with fund size and module usage. That makes it suitable for eligible managers willing to shape an early product, not a dependable long-term price benchmark. Fund bookkeeping is not included in the beta.

Platforms

Beonflow runs on the web. Its German and Austrian data-centre residency may matter to funds prioritising that geography for fund data, but the platform does not currently cover bookkeeping.

Who it's for

Beonflow is best suited to first- and second-fund German VC managers who want investor operations, compliance and reporting in one system and can participate in a limited private beta. Managers who need live fund bookkeeping or accounting integrations should look elsewhere or plan to keep those workflows separate.

If live books are a requirement, choose a tool that covers them now; if investor workflows are the priority and separate bookkeeping is workable, Beonflow's beta is a focused fit.
