What AlterCam is

AlterCam is Windows software that turns a webcam feed into a virtual camera for video applications. It installs a kernel-mode virtual webcam driver visible to Windows Camera, Teams, Zoom, Discord, OBS, and other clients. The product lists more than 50 live effects and can replace or hide backgrounds without a green screen. It can send video files or desktop video through the virtual camera, with or without webcam footage, and supports webcam video and photo recording. Webcam video can be split among as many programs as needed. Audio functions listed for version 6.7 include restored noise suppression, automatic volume normalization, and voice changing. Scene composition, background effects, and audio routing are supported. A free trial is available, but there is no free plan. Windows is the supported platform.
