A11yMeter
What A11yMeter is
A11yMeter scans public websites for accessibility issues, checks color contrast, and creates reports for teams. Available on the web and as a browser extension, it can flag images needing text alternatives, identify contrast failures from axe-core, and list focusable controls, positive tabindex values, and targets needing manual review. Reports organize findings by WCAG tags, impact, affected selectors, and fixes, with PDF export. Scan findings can become Jira-ready issue drafts. The free contrast checker compares foreground and background colors against WCAG 2.1 AA and AAA guidelines. Running a scan requires signing in or creating a free account. Pages requiring login can be scanned through the Chrome or Edge extension, while the public URL scanner blocks internal networks, private IP addresses, and localhost. A11yMeter combines Playwright, axe-core, and a lightweight keyboard audit. Automated reports are informational and do not certify legal or WCAG compliance; manual keyboard, screen-reader, form, and workflow testing remains necessary.
