Track each partner program against its own current terms, not just a third-party alert. Keep an inventory of official terms and payout pages, dated copies or change history, and official notice channels. When something changes, compare the old and new language, verify the effective date and scope in the live agreement or direct notice, then update your links, records, and promotions.
Which changes should you track?
A headline commission rate is only one part of a partner program. Changes that can affect attribution, eligibility, cash flow, or compliance include:
- Commission rates, qualifying actions, and the products or plans that earn commission.
- Cookie or attribution windows, referral-credit rules, and tracking-link requirements.
- Payout thresholds, schedules, lock periods, and payment methods.
- Exclusions, territory limits, and restrictions on promotional methods or incentives.
- Effective dates, transition periods, and deadlines for replacing old links or materials.
Record the exact clause or table that matters, rather than relying on a page title or a note such as “commission changed.” A small wording change to eligibility or attribution can matter even when the advertised rate is unchanged.
Build a source inventory for every program
Start with the sources that can establish what the program currently requires. For each active program, record the official agreement, commission or payout page, partner dashboard, dated changelog if available, and the email or network notice channel. Save the source URL and the date you checked it.

| Record | What to capture | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Official agreement | URL, version or last-modified date if shown, and the relevant clauses | It is the primary reference for obligations, scope, and effective dates. |
| Rate and payout information | URL, rate table, qualifying conditions, thresholds, and timing | These details may be on a separate page from the agreement. |
| Dashboard or network page | Where the current program terms and notices appear | Some programs deliver updates inside a tool or network rather than on a public page. |
| Notice and update channels | Program email address or subscription, in-app alerts, network notices, changelog, or official feed | Official notices can explain when a change takes effect or what action is required. |
| Checked copy | Check date and a dated copy, export, or version history where permitted | A record of the previous wording makes later comparison possible. |
Keep the inventory somewhere your team can maintain. Restrict access to authenticated dashboards and stored notices appropriately; do not give a monitoring service credentials unless you have assessed its access and security practices.
Set up a repeatable monitoring routine
- List active programs. Include programs that still have live links, published recommendations, or pending commissions.
- Save authoritative URLs. Separate public agreement and payout pages from signed-in dashboard locations. Note which page covers each important term.
- Record a baseline. On the day you check a page, save its relevant text or a dated copy and note the current rate, attribution window, payout conditions, exclusions, and effective date where stated.
- Subscribe to official notices. Enable email, dashboard, network, changelog, or feed updates where offered. HubSpot’s Affiliate Program Agreement, whose reviewed page showed a last-modified date of February 23, 2026, says updates may be communicated electronically, including through its Affiliate Tool or email. Google Search Central’s documentation updates page provides an RSS feed for its own documentation—an example of an official feed, not a promise that partner programs provide one.
- Monitor relevant pages. For public pages, a page-change monitor can check at a schedule you choose. Where the tool supports it, focus alerts on rates, clauses, or tables and filter out navigation or layout noise. For a signed-in dashboard, first confirm the monitor can access it safely and reliably.
- Choose a cadence based on risk. Check often enough for the program’s importance and the consequences of missing a change. There is no evidence-based interval that fits every program. A monitor may offer scheduled checks and immediate, daily, or weekly notifications; verify the current options and any plan restrictions before relying on them.
- Review every alert before acting. Compare the changed text with your baseline, verify it against the program’s live terms or direct notice, and identify the effective date, affected products or regions, and any transition deadline.
- Update and document. If the change is confirmed, update your program record and affected links, disclosures, landing pages, or promotion plans. Record what changed, the source that confirmed it, the date, and who made the update.
Use page monitors as alerting tools, not authorities
A page monitor can help spot a changed public page or, if supported, a signed-in page. It cannot establish by itself whether a change is binding, when it applies, or whether a notice is complete. Confirm consequential alerts in the current agreement, an official dashboard, or direct program communication.
Rank #2
When comparing monitoring services, check whether they can cover public pages and authenticated dashboards, target particular values or clauses, retain before-and-after history, offer suitable notification choices, and support a check frequency that fits your needs. PageCrawl describes monitoring affiliate terms and alerting on commission rates, cookie windows, and payout rules; those are vendor-described capabilities, not independent performance findings. Its reviewed page says checks more frequent than hourly require a paid plan and describes instant or digest notifications. Verify current settings and pricing before choosing a service.
Keep the official page’s URL and date checked even if a monitor sends a useful diff. The monitor is a discovery layer; the program’s own current terms and notices are what you use to decide what to change.

Read dated examples in their original context
A dated changelog can make the history easier to follow, but its figures are not current terms for every program. Automattic’s Creator Program changelog included a March 24, 2026 entry about Pressable terms: it stated 100% of the first payment on each referred sale, up to $300, and a 45-day payout-lock period. A July 22, 2025 entry said Premium Themes became eligible for promotion, with 30% for a user’s first paid purchase and 10% for returning customers. Those are program-specific statements recorded on those dates; check the current program terms before using them.
Geography and agreement versions matter too. The Google Workspace Affiliate Program terms reviewed for LATAM describe notice of material changes through the network service or in writing, including email. Those LATAM terms also say outdated tracking links or incentives must stop being used within 30 days, or another similarly reasonable timeframe agreed by the parties. That is an example from that agreement, not a universal deadline. Follow the terms that apply to your program, region, and agreement version.

ScreenshotNeo can return a screenshot of a program page through one GET request. It can help you save a visual reference, but a screenshot is not a change-monitoring alert and does not replace checking the program’s terms. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for request options.

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie and consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots. Troubleshoot missed or noisy changes
- The monitor reports many irrelevant changes: If supported, target the specific rate table or clauses and filter layout, navigation, or other unrelated elements. Keep a manual check of the official terms in the workflow.
- A signed-in page is not being checked: Confirm the service supports authenticated pages and can reach the relevant dashboard. Do not assume a public-page monitor can see content behind a login.
- An alert conflicts with a program email or dashboard notice: Compare both with the current agreement and determine which terms, region, and effective date apply. Ask the program or network for clarification if the conflict is material.
- You cannot find the old wording: Use your dated copy or retained before-and-after history. If neither exists, avoid inferring the exact change from the current page alone; ask the program for the prior version or clarification.
- A deadline is unclear: Do not apply a deadline from another program or geography. Check the applicable agreement and notice, then contact the program before continuing to use affected links or incentives if the required action is uncertain.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I check partner program terms?
Choose a cadence based on the program’s importance and the potential impact of a missed change; no single interval is established for every program.
Best Value
- Large area for complete description of work proposed
- Includes space for customer to sign his/her acceptance of proposal.
- 1-part form includes carbons to create 2 part forms if necessary.
- Space at top for company stamp.
Can an automated page monitor tell me whether a change is legally binding?
No. Use alerts to find possible changes, then verify the applicable requirement in the program’s current agreement or official notice.
