Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →If a page looks right in your browser but its social preview is missing the title, image, or description, first check the HTML the server returns—not just the browser’s finished DOM. JavaScript may add the Open Graph tags after load, while the platform fetching the shared URL may read only the initial response. The durable fix is to return route-specific metadata in the page’s initial HTML, using server-side rendering or static generation where practical.
Confirm whether the tags are missing from the initial response
- Open the affected URL’s initial HTTP response HTML and inspect the document’s
<head>. Check for the page’sog:title,og:type,og:image, andog:urlvalues before application JavaScript runs. - Compare that source with the browser DOM after the page has loaded. If the tags appear only in the post-load DOM, client-side code is injecting them too late for crawlers that do not execute JavaScript.
- Repeat the check on several routes. A correct tag set on the home page does not establish that product, article, or other route URLs return their own metadata.
Google Search renders JavaScript in a separate phase, which can be delayed, and Google notes that not all bots can run JavaScript. That distinction matters: Google’s behavior is not a guarantee about every social platform or messaging-app crawler. See Google’s JavaScript SEO basics.
Put page-specific Open Graph metadata in the first HTML response
Generate the metadata on the server or at build time so it is already in the document head when the URL is fetched. Server-side rendering (SSR) creates the page HTML for a request; static rendering or pre-rendering creates HTML before requests arrive. Both can provide route-specific tags without depending on a social crawler to run your client-side application. Google recommends server-side or pre-rendering for crawler accessibility and favors SSR, static rendering, or hydration over dynamic rendering.
Use the metadata source appropriate to your application, such as the route’s content record or page data, to populate the initial HTML. For every URL, ensure that the returned values describe that route rather than repeating generic application-shell values. After deployment, verify the raw response for multiple representative URLs.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose an approach that fits how the site is served
- SSR: Render page-specific metadata into each response. This suits sites whose content or routes need to be assembled on request.
- Static rendering or pre-rendering: Generate each route’s HTML and metadata ahead of time. This works when the content can be produced at build time.
- Dynamic rendering: Google characterizes serving a rendered version to crawlers as a workaround, not a long-term solution; it adds complexity and resource requirements. Prefer SSR, static rendering, or hydration where practical. See Google’s dynamic rendering guidance.
- Client-side injection: Adding or changing meta tags after load may help consumers that render the page, but it does not solve the problem for a crawler that reads only the initial HTML. Google advises avoiding JavaScript injection or changes to meta tags where possible; test thoroughly if you rely on it. See Google’s supported meta tags guidance.
Check the required properties and their values
The Open Graph Protocol defines four basic properties. Put them in the page head and make each value appropriate to the URL being shared:
| Property | What to check |
|---|---|
og:title |
The title intended for the shared object. |
og:type |
The object type. |
og:image |
The representative image URL. |
og:url |
The permanent or canonical URL for that object. |
og:description |
Recommended by the protocol; use a description specific to the page. |
og:image:alt |
Recommended whenever the page specifies og:image; describe the image. |
These fields and recommendations come from the Open Graph Protocol. LinkedIn’s share guidance specifically lists title, image, description, and URL, and says website source code should comply with Open Graph requirements; check the LinkedIn Help guidance for that platform.

Test the deployed page in the target platform
Once the initial response contains correct tags, test the actual URL with the platform where the preview is wrong. A correct HTML response does not prove that every crawler can fetch the page or its image, and the crawler and cache behavior is platform-specific. If a preview still shows old or incorrect data, check whether that platform can access the response and image, then use its available preview-refresh or debugging process. The sources cited here do not establish universal cache lifetimes or refresh behavior.
