There is no proven universal winner. ApiFlash has the cheaper listed paid entry plan, while ScreenshotOne Basic includes twice the monthly screenshot quota. For 10,000 screenshots per month, ApiFlash’s listed plan costs less, but plan features and limits differ. Choose by matching your volume, capture requirements, and traffic pattern—and test both on your own pages before committing.
What ScreenshotOne and ApiFlash do
Both are hosted website screenshot APIs: send a URL and capture options to an endpoint, and the service renders the page and returns an image. ScreenshotOne documents GET and POST requests and recommends HTTPS. ApiFlash documents HTTPS GET and POST requests authenticated with an access key. ApiFlash describes its infrastructure as based on Chrome and AWS Lambda; that vendor description is not evidence of comparative speed or reliability. How to read the price difference
ApiFlash’s listed entry paid plan is $7 per month for 1,000 screenshots; ScreenshotOne Basic is $17 for 2,000. ApiFlash therefore has the lower entry price, while ScreenshotOne Basic lists twice the allowance. At 10,000 screenshots, ApiFlash Medium is listed at $35 and ScreenshotOne Growth at $79. These are not identical bundles: compare feature availability, request limits, support and overage terms alongside monthly quota.
Features and request limits
Both vendors list PNG, JPEG and WebP output, full-page capture, mobile capture, ad blocking, cookie-banner handling, and S3 delivery in their published plan descriptions. Feature names do not establish identical behavior, so validate the details that matter for your pages.
| Area | ScreenshotOne | ApiFlash |
|---|---|---|
| Additional published capabilities | PDF rendering, HTML rendering, caching, webhooks, signed links, stealth mode, and integrations such as Zapier and Make; availability varies by plan. | Documentation describes viewport dimensions, full-page capture, element selectors, CSS and JavaScript injection, cookies and headers, wait conditions, location parameters, extracted HTML/text, and S3-compatible output. |
| Published request limit | 40 requests/minute on Basic, 80 on Growth, and 150 on Scale. | Leaky-bucket limit of 20 requests/second sustained, with burst size 400. Above the sustained rate, requests are delayed; exceeding the burst can return HTTP 429. |
Monthly volume alone does not tell you whether an API limit fits. Estimate both the average rate and the shape of bursts from your application, then check any plan-specific restrictions in the current documentation. ScreenshotOne features · ApiFlash documentation

Which API should you choose?
- Estimate billable workload. Count the unique successful captures you expect in a billing month and identify how much caching can reduce repeat renders.
- Choose a volume tier, then calculate total cost. Include listed overages, support requirements, and the cost of any higher plan needed for your rate or features.
- Make a must-have checklist. Verify full-page and mobile behavior, output formats, element capture, waits for dynamic content, ad and cookie cleanup, geolocation, storage, and integrations.
- Test the same representative pages on each service. Include slow pages and lazy-loaded content if those occur in production. Compare the resulting captures for completeness and visual correctness.
- Verify current terms and commitments. Check plan restrictions, limits, and any service-level commitment with the provider. ApiFlash says it does not publicly display uptime statistics; the available vendor material does not establish a controlled head-to-head comparison of speed, uptime, or visual fidelity.
