The example below captures full pages; remove full_page=True for viewport-only images. Playwright’s Python API has both synchronous and asynchronous forms, and you can choose based on how the rest of your program is structured.
Capture several URLs in one Python script
Install Playwright and its browser binaries if you have not already:

python -m playwright install chromiumThis synchronous example creates one browser and context, then creates and closes a page for each URL. The numbered filenames keep the output for each address separate.

browser.close()The output directory is created if needed. The try/finally blocks ensure pages, the explicitly created context, and the browser are closed even if navigation or capture raises an error. Playwright’s pages guide describes a page as a tab or popup and notes that a browser context can contain multiple pages: Playwright Python: Pages.

Choose between viewport and full-page screenshots
page.screenshot() captures the visible viewport by default. Set full_page=True to capture the full scrollable page in one image, as in the example. Use full_page=False or omit the argument when you only want what is currently visible. See Playwright Python: Screenshots.
A full-page image can be much taller than the viewport. If a site loads content only as you scroll, a full-page capture may not include content that has not yet loaded; site-specific scrolling or waiting may be needed before taking the screenshot.

Use one page repeatedly or create a page for each URL
The example creates a new page per URL, which keeps each navigation’s page state separate and makes per-page cleanup straightforward. For simple sequential work, you can reuse a single page instead: navigate to a URL, save its screenshot, and only then navigate to the next address. In either pattern, use a different output filename for each capture.
Separate pages are useful when you need independent handling or multiple tabs. They are not required just because the script processes multiple URLs one after another.

Use the asynchronous API with asyncio
If the surrounding application already uses asyncio, Playwright recommends its asynchronous API. The operations that launch the browser, create pages, navigate, capture, and close are awaited.

Save screenshots as files or work with bytes
Providing path writes the screenshot to a file. If you omit path, Playwright returns the image as bytes instead. This is useful when the next step is processing the image in memory, sending it elsewhere, or comparing pixels without first writing a file. The screenshot options are documented in Playwright Python: Screenshots.

Different sites behave differently, so no single readiness condition guarantees that every page is visually complete. The sample relies on page.goto() completing before capture. If a target has delayed or lazy-loaded content, determine what readiness means for that site and add suitable waits or scrolling before taking the screenshot. Do not assume that the same delay works for every URL.

- A navigation times out: Check the URL and whether the site is reachable from the machine running the script. Increase the navigation timeout only when a slower response is expected; a larger timeout also makes failures take longer to report.
- The screenshot is shorter than expected: Confirm that you passed
full_page=True. If content appears only after scrolling, load that content before capture. - A later image overwrites an earlier one: Ensure the output path is unique per URL, for example by using the loop index or a sanitized name derived from the address.
- The browser process or context remains open after an error: Keep cleanup in
finallyblocks. When you explicitly create a context withbrowser.new_context(), close it before closing the browser so Playwright can handle close events and artifacts gracefully. See Playwright Python: Browser. - A site requires a login: The basic example does not set up authentication. Configure the context for the site’s required session or credentials, and avoid placing secrets directly in source code.

The examples here capture URLs sequentially. Parallel captures require separate page handling and should be bounded to suit the browser process and target sites; the examples do not set a concurrency limit.
