Use a request tool that explicitly supports YouTube Live, limit submissions to music you are authorized to broadcast, and test playback, moderation, and fallback behavior before opening the queue. Nightbot documents YouTube song requests and playlist playback when the queue is empty. StreamElements’ currently documented Media Request feature is Twitch-only, so it is not the documented choice for a YouTube queue.
What you need before setting up requests
- A request tool that can connect to your YouTube channel and read its live chat. Check current platform support rather than assuming a feature works across every service.
- A defined catalog of tracks with permissions that cover livestream broadcasting. A song appearing in YouTube search does not establish that you have broadcast rights.
- Moderation settings and a fallback playlist, so requests can be controlled and music can continue when the queue is empty.
How to add and test the queue
1. Choose a YouTube-compatible request tool
Nightbot’s Song Requests documentation describes YouTube as a supported provider and covers queue controls. StreamElements’ Media Request documentation documents its song-request commands as Twitch-only; its YouTube chatbot support page says Media Request is not available for YouTube accounts. Product support can change, so confirm the tool’s current YouTube compatibility before configuring it.
2. Define the approved music catalog
Build a playlist from tracks for which you have documented permission to use in a livestream. Nightbot recommends using licensed or free music and restricting requests to a playlist. Do not treat a public YouTube upload, a search result, or a viewer’s request as proof that a track is cleared.
3. Configure request access and moderation
Before enabling requests, decide who can submit tracks, which providers are accepted, and what filters apply. Nightbot documents controls for user levels, providers, music categories, and liked videos. Set any available queue and per-user limits to match the pace you can moderate. Make sure moderators know how to skip or remove a request.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
StreamElements documents queue moderation, request and duration limits, blacklists, and a public request page for its Twitch-supported module. Those features do not make its documented Media Request module a YouTube solution.
4. Set fallback playback
Requests will not necessarily keep the queue full. Nightbot documents that its channel playlist can play when the request queue is empty. Configure a fallback playlist of authorized tracks and verify how playback hands off between a requested item and the playlist.

5. Test the complete viewer-to-playback path
- Submit a request from a test viewer account and confirm it appears in the queue.
- Check that the request is eligible under your access rules and filters.
- Have a moderator remove or skip an item, then confirm the queue updates as expected.
- Verify that the selected track plays on the live stream.
- Empty the queue and confirm fallback music starts; then test a new request to check the handoff back to requests.
Tool documentation describes product features, not how a particular channel’s configuration behaves. Run these checks on your own setup before relying on it continuously.
Copyright and YouTube live-stream interruptions
A request queue controls submissions and playback; it does not grant music rights. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content. It may warn the streamer and replace the live image, and if the content remains, may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. YouTube also notes that a licensed third-party track may still trigger interruption if the channel has not been added to the rights holder’s Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s guidance on live-streaming restrictions.

YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions state that the channel provider represents that it has the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Keep records of permissions and confirm that they cover livestream use, relevant territories, and any archived stream. When applicable, ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting.
Do not treat a Creator Music license as permission for live requests: YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says Creator Music does not support licensing for live content.

Or let it run in the cloud
If the stream itself should keep running without leaving a computer on at home, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist live on YouTube from the cloud. It does not create a song-request queue or clear music rights; you still need to manage requests and use music you are authorized to broadcast. The setup is three steps:
- Upload a recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded content from the cloud.
Nothing has to stay on at home. Videos stream as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot regardless of quality. If YouTube drops the stream, StreamNeo attempts automatic recovery. The first day is free with no card; one free day is available per account. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. To start, try StreamNeo’s free first day.
