Yes. YouTube’s published limits allow up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 active streams per stream key, so two simultaneous streams fit if no other active streams use those slots. That answers the concurrency question—not whether a particular setup will run reliably around the clock, or whether YouTube will preserve a 24-hour broadcast as one complete VOD.
What YouTube’s stream limits mean for two feeds
YouTube Help states that a channel can have up to 10 active streams, with up to 3 active streams per stream key; both limits apply at the same time. Two feeds therefore fit within the documented caps, provided your other active streams do not use the remaining capacity. These are platform limits, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service or approval for any particular encoder arrangement. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and limits may change, so check the current Help page when planning a long-running setup.
How to set up two gaming streams
YouTube supports encoder streaming for gameplay. Each feed needs to reach YouTube through a stream configuration in Live Control Room; the stream URL and key tell the encoder where to send that feed. YouTube’s documentation does not prescribe an ideal two-encoder topology, so the exact arrangement depends on your software or hardware and how you produce each feed.
- Check eligibility first. The channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s getting-started guidance also says streamers must be at least 16. These requirements are separate from the active-stream caps. Review YouTube’s eligibility guidance.
- Create each stream in Live Control Room. Follow YouTube’s encoder workflow for the first feed, then create the second stream. Keep the title, game, and other stream settings distinct and accurate for each broadcast. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain how to create a stream and connect an encoder.
- Connect the right encoder output to each stream. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the intended feed into its encoder. Stream keys act as credentials for sending a feed to YouTube; handle them privately and verify which encoder is connected to which stream. YouTube says stream settings can be reused, but reuse does not remove the concurrent-stream limits. See YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance.
- Preview and test both feeds. Start with a test rather than assuming two individually working encoders will behave correctly together. Check each Live Control Room preview and stream health, then monitor both feeds after going live. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring encoder streams. Read YouTube’s streaming tips.
Plan for uptime, monitoring, and recovery
The numeric stream cap does not establish that a specific pair of computers, encoders, or network connections can sustain two feeds continuously. A local setup depends on the equipment and connection that send each feed. Test the complete arrangement, keep an eye on each stream’s health, and decide in advance how you will respond if an encoder or connection fails. YouTube recommends testing, previewing, and monitoring; its documentation does not promise that a 24/7 broadcast will remain uninterrupted. YouTube’s streaming guidance covers these checks.

Do not assume a 24-hour stream becomes one complete VOD
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its cited encoder instructions do not promise that a continuous 24-hour stream will be saved as one complete VOD. If the archive matters, verify YouTube’s current behavior and plan an archive workflow around the documented under-12-hour condition instead of relying on an unsupported promise. Ending and recreating streams to manage archives also runs into a separate platform rule: YouTube limits how many live streams a channel can create in a 24-hour period, but its cited error guidance does not state a numeric quota. Check game and audio rights before looping gameplay
YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance points creators to Content ID and rights-policy controls, but it does not establish a universal license for streaming every game. Check the current policy from the game publisher and make sure you have rights to any music or other third-party material in the VOD. A stream fitting YouTube’s technical limits does not establish that its content is permitted. YouTube’s settings guidance explains relevant rights controls; the applicable game-specific answer depends on its publisher and rights holders.

Can one stream key carry both streams?
YouTube’s documented limit is up to 3 active streams per stream key, alongside the 10-stream channel limit. Check the stream configuration and key assigned to each encoder in Live Control Room.

Does the 10-stream limit mean I can create 10 new streams every day?
No. The active-stream cap and the daily stream-creation limit are separate. YouTube confirms a daily creation limit but the cited error guidance does not give its numeric quota.
