Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteGoogle Cloud Compute Engine is a credible India-region cloud GPU candidate for 4K 60fps YouTube Live, because its official location matrix lists GPU machine types in Mumbai and Delhi. That makes it a shortlist option—not a proven best provider. Zone capacity, encoder performance, upload stability to YouTube, and total session cost must be checked and tested for the specific workflow.
A cloud GPU virtual machine (VM) can run a desktop encoder such as OBS if the selected instance, operating system, drivers, and hardware encoder support your source and settings. This is different from a managed service that loops uploaded videos to YouTube: the latter is not a remote OBS workstation or camera-input workflow.
What to check before choosing a cloud service
For a 4K60 broadcast, the provider’s GPU location is only one part of the decision. The complete path—from your source into the VM, through encoding, and out to YouTube—has to work reliably at the chosen settings.
- Encoder and codec: Confirm that the VM can run your chosen encoder and that its GPU, driver, and software support hardware encoding for H.264, H.265, or AV1 as appropriate.
- Region and capacity: Check the exact machine type, zone, quota, and current capacity. A listed GPU region does not guarantee that a particular instance is available.
- Source workflow: Establish how video and audio will reach the VM. A GPU VM does not, by itself, provide a camera or capture-card feed.
- Network delivery: The VM must sustain outbound delivery to YouTube with headroom. A cloud region or GPU specification alone does not establish route quality.
- Operations: Plan for unattended startup, monitoring, recovery, and safe handling of the YouTube stream key.
- Full cost: Include compute runtime, storage, and network egress, not just the VM’s advertised compute rate.
- Latency: YouTube’s 4K/2160p low-latency option is unavailable; 4K streams use normal latency.
Google Cloud’s official GPU location matrix lists GPU machine types in Mumbai (asia-south1) and Delhi (asia-south2). It includes G2 in Mumbai and G4/G2 in listed Delhi zones, but the exact options vary by zone. Verify current quota and stock before planning around a specific machine.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to shortlist a provider
The verified India-region candidate here is Google Cloud Compute Engine. The available evidence does not establish a like-for-like comparison of AWS, Azure, or other providers’ current Indian GPU inventory, 4K60 encoding throughput, YouTube-bound network quality, or total cost. Treat any provider choice as a shortlist to validate, rather than a performance ranking.
- Choose the actual workflow. Decide whether the VM will run OBS or another encoder, what source it will receive, and which codec you intend to send to YouTube.
- Check a specific India zone. Confirm the required GPU machine family, zone capacity, quota, supported operating system, and driver availability in the provider console.
- Verify hardware encoding. Check that the instance’s GPU and software stack support encoding in your selected codec. Do not infer OBS or codec performance from a GPU family name alone.
- Estimate the complete session cost. Account for compute time, disks or other storage, and outbound network charges. Cloud pricing and availability change; verify current provider pricing and terms before provisioning.
- Run a representative test from that VM. Send a test with similar motion and audio over the intended network path, then review YouTube’s stream-health messages before relying on the setup for an event.
YouTube’s 4K60 encoder and connection requirements
YouTube accepts 4K/2160p at 60 frames per second. Its encoder settings guidance, accessed in 2026, lists a recommended H.264 bitrate of 35 Mbps for this format and a 10–40 Mbps range for AV1 and H.265. Follow the current codec-specific guidance for your stream configuration; the listed options can depend on the ingestion protocol and stream setup.

| Setting or requirement | YouTube guidance for this workflow |
|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 4K/2160p at up to 60 fps |
| H.264 bitrate | 35 Mbps recommended for 4K/2160p60 |
| AV1 or H.265 bitrate | 10–40 Mbps listed for 4K/2160p60 |
| Bitrate mode | Constant bitrate (CBR) |
| Keyframe interval | Two seconds recommended; no more than four seconds |
| Ingest protocol | RTMP or RTMPS; YouTube recommends RTMPS for an encrypted connection |
| Latency | Normal latency; the 4K/2160p low-latency option is unavailable |
Set the encoder to a quality that your connection can deliver reliably. The target video bitrate is not the whole network requirement: leave upload headroom for audio and fluctuations rather than sizing the connection to the video figure alone. YouTube recommends a speed test and a pre-event test with similar audio and motion. A VM must sustain the outbound stream to YouTube, and a generic cloud bandwidth figure cannot substitute for testing that path.
Preflight the VM before a real broadcast
- Confirm source input. Verify that the intended video and audio source reaches the VM and appears correctly in the encoder.
- Apply current YouTube settings. Select 4K/2160p at 60 fps, the appropriate codec and bitrate, CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and RTMPS where supported by your encoder and configuration.
- Test encoding load. Observe the encoder for dropped or lagged frames during a representative segment; confirm that the VM can encode while handling the source.
- Test the upload path. Run a test stream from the intended VM and check that delivery remains stable above the selected target bitrate with margin.
- Check the YouTube ingest and stream health. Use the correct ingest endpoint and stream key, then inspect Live Control Room for stream-health warnings and audio/video sync.
- Rehearse the operating procedure. Confirm how the stream starts, how it is monitored, and what you will do if the encoder or connection fails.
YouTube’s guidance says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream,” and advises creators to monitor stream health and review messages during the event. A successful short test is useful evidence for your particular VM and route; it is not a guarantee that a later broadcast will have identical conditions.

Cloud GPU VM or managed video streaming?
Choose the tool for the job. A GPU VM is a flexible remote computer for running an encoder and receiving a live source, but it requires you to configure and operate that environment. A managed service that plays uploaded videos to YouTube is a different option for prerecorded programming; it does not replace a VM when you need a camera feed or a full remote desktop production workflow.
For a camera or HDMI-source workflow, Blackmagic Design lists its Streaming Encoder 4K with USB-C up to 2160p60 and YouTube among supported destinations. It is a physical production device, not a cloud GPU service or a requirement for encoding in a VM. Check the manufacturer’s current configuration and retailer availability to confirm it suits your source connections.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Google Cloud GPU location guarantee a 4K60 YouTube stream will work?
No. The location listing confirms that GPU machine types are listed in Mumbai and Delhi, not that a particular instance has capacity or that its encoder and outbound route will sustain your chosen stream settings.
Can YouTube 4K60 use low latency?
No. YouTube’s cited encoder guidance says the low-latency option is unavailable for 4K/2160p.
