To show several property tours during one YouTube Live event, create and order a playlist for your planning, then use encoder software to send a continuous presentation of the tour videos to YouTube. A YouTube playlist organizes videos for viewers; it does not itself become the live broadcast. You need to configure an encoder to play the clips in sequence, connect it to YouTube with the Live Control Room stream URL and key, and start the broadcast after YouTube displays the incoming preview.
What a YouTube playlist does—and what it does not do
A playlist is useful for assembling the property tours and arranging their order. YouTube’s playlist instructions describe adding and reordering videos, not using that playlist as the outgoing feed for a live stream. For a live broadcast, YouTube receives the encoder’s output through the Live Control Room’s stream URL and stream key.
Do not confuse a viewer queue with a broadcast playlist, either. YouTube documents the desktop queue as a way to choose what to watch next; it is not saved when the browser closes unless you save it to a playlist. Neither a viewer queue nor a watch playlist is a substitute for configuring the live encoder.
Prepare the property tour lineup
- In YouTube Studio, create a playlist for the property tours.
- Add the tour videos from search, a URL, or your channel library.
- Drag the videos into the order in which you want viewers to see them. Check the sequence and titles before setting up the live event.
This step gives you a clear running order. You will still need to configure your encoder to output the videos in that order; YouTube’s playlist feature does not establish that the encoder will read or play the playlist.

Set up the YouTube Live connection
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream.
- In your encoder, enter YouTube’s stream URL and key in its streaming or destination settings. The exact labels and menu path vary by encoder.
- Configure the encoder’s program output to present the property tour videos in the lineup’s intended order.
- Start the encoder feed. In Live Control Room, wait until YouTube shows the incoming stream preview, then select Go live.
- When the tour is finished, end the broadcast in YouTube.
YouTube’s encoder guide explains connecting the encoder and starting the stream, but it does not document how a particular encoder builds a sequence of prerecorded files. Check your encoder’s current instructions for adding multiple clips, setting transitions, and controlling what appears between tours; do not assume that adding a YouTube playlist automatically configures those behaviors. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.
Check channel eligibility before the event
YouTube’s live-streaming help page says a channel must be verified, have no live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and be operated by a streamer who is at least 16. Confirm eligibility and any current restrictions before promoting a scheduled tour.

Make the tour presentation reliable
Before choosing an encoder or finalizing the broadcast setup, verify that it can play multiple prerecorded files sequentially and that you understand its transition and holding-slide behavior. Test stable output at the resolution you intend to use, and find out what happens if a clip ends unexpectedly or the network connection fails. These are checks to make against the documentation for your chosen encoder, not capabilities established for every encoder.
Also review the rights for every video, soundtrack, image, and other material you plan to broadcast. A property tour being prerecorded or included in your own playlist does not, by itself, establish permission to stream all of its contents. YouTube’s live-streaming rules and any applicable rights restrictions may affect whether the event can proceed.

Troubleshooting before and during the stream
- You see a playlist, but no live video: The playlist organizes videos; it does not send an encoder feed. Configure the encoder’s output and connect it using the stream URL and key.
- YouTube does not show an incoming preview: Check that the encoder is running and that the stream URL and key match the stream in Live Control Room. Wait for the preview before selecting Go live.
- The tours are in the wrong order or do not advance: Check the encoder’s own clip sequence and playback controls. Reordering videos in YouTube Studio does not prove that an encoder is using that order.
- The live option is unavailable: Check channel verification, the streamer’s age, and whether the channel has a live-stream restriction from the preceding 90 days.
- A video or transition fails: Consult the encoder’s documentation for its file-playback and recovery behavior. The general YouTube encoder guide does not specify how individual encoders handle a failed clip.
