Cloud services for YouTube Live are not all the same: some relay an incoming live feed to multiple destinations, some keep prerecorded videos looping on a 24/7 YouTube stream, and others provide configurable video processing through a cloud API. Choose by workflow before comparing prices. For automated prerecorded YouTube streams, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos from the cloud, with one flat price per slot for any quality up to 4K 60fps and a free first day.
Which kind of cloud streaming service do you need?
YouTube distinguishes local software or hardware encoders from cloud service encoders. A local encoder processes a live camera or production feed on your computer or device. A cloud service encoder receives an incoming stream and can distribute it to selected channels, resolutions, or platforms. A third category, a cloud service for continuous prerecorded broadcasts, loops or schedules uploaded videos without requiring a live camera feed.
| Workflow | What it does | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud relay | Receives one live feed and distributes it to configured channels, resolutions, or platforms. | Live camera or production feed that needs multiple outputs, or a creator seeking to reduce local computer encoding load. |
| Automated 24/7 prerecorded streaming | Runs uploaded videos on a continuous or scheduled YouTube stream. | A channel that wants prerecorded programming to stay live without keeping a computer running. |
| Cloud live-processing API | Provides configurable input, processing, and outputs billed according to usage and configuration. | Teams building a custom video workflow that can manage cloud resources and usage charges. |
YouTube says cloud service encoders can suit creators seeking easier setup, less load on an older or slower computer, or streaming to more than two channels. A capable local computer and encoder can provide more direct control. For YouTube’s overview, see YouTube’s guide to choosing an encoder.

| Component | SD | HD | UHD |
|---|---|---|---|
| H.264 input | $0.07/hour | $0.14/hour | $0.85/hour |
| H.264 output | $0.22/hour | $0.45/hour | $1.50/hour |
These are USD rates, not INR estimates. Google lists other rates, including H.265, and charges separately for distribution endpoints and captioning. The total depends on active time, resolution, input and output configuration, codec, and distribution. Its billing rules specify a ten-minute minimum, then round duration up to the next minute; an active channel can incur charges even when no input stream is arriving. Distribution streams are additional outputs. See Google Cloud Live Stream API pricing and its Cloud Platform SKUs for currency-specific pricing. Do not convert the listed USD rates to INR without the applicable SKU and configuration.
Google’s pricing page illustrates how configuration changes totals: one example totals $8.89 for one channel with two UHD inputs and seven outputs in us-central1; another totals $5.17 for an HD setup with distribution endpoints in europe-west2. These are configuration-specific examples, not typical bills or INR estimates.

How to choose without comparing unlike prices
- For one prerecorded YouTube channel that should stay live: compare 24/7 services by included slot or channel, storage, playlist and scheduling tools, recovery behavior, quality limits, and billing period. Confirm what counts as a channel or output.
- For a live camera or production feed sent to several destinations: look at cloud relays and count the outputs and platforms actually included. A prerecorded-video looping service is not automatically a substitute for a live-feed relay.
- For a custom application: estimate API costs from the intended active hours, resolution, input and output count, codec, and distribution needs. A low input rate alone does not represent the complete bill.
- Check taxes and currency: StreamSetu says 18% GST is added to its displayed prices. The cited Google Cloud rates are USD and require the appropriate currency-specific SKU for a non-USD estimate. For YtLive Stream, the cited page displays INR plan prices; confirm applicable taxes and current checkout terms with the provider.
Set up and monitor a YouTube live feed
For a camera or production feed, YouTube’s standard encoder setup requires the Live server URL and stream key in the encoder. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains the platform workflow.
- Choose a local or cloud relay encoder. Use a local software or hardware encoder when you want direct production control and have adequate processing capacity. Consider a cloud service encoder if you need relay to multiple destinations or want less encoding load on the local computer.
- Set the YouTube server URL and stream key. Copy these from the YouTube live setup and enter them in the encoder’s corresponding server and key fields. Do not share or publish the key.
- Choose a reliable output quality. YouTube advises selecting quality appropriate to the available upload connection rather than simply choosing the maximum. Test upload speed and leave headroom for a stable contribution feed.
- Use RTMPS where supported. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery from encoder to YouTube.
- Test before the event and watch stream health. Start a private or otherwise appropriate test, check for dropped frames or connection problems in the encoder and YouTube’s stream-health indicators, and lower the output quality if the connection cannot sustain it.
YouTube automatically transcodes live streams into output formats for different devices and network conditions. That does not remove the need to send YouTube a stable, suitably configured input. See YouTube’s live encoder settings and bitrates for current technical recommendations.
Hardware is optional for a cloud workflow
A standalone encoder can suit a camera or switcher setup, but cloud streaming does not require dedicated encoder hardware. Blackmagic Design lists its Streaming Encoder HD at ₹55,980 on its India technical-specification page and describes it as an HD streaming processor using SRT or RTMP. This is a hardware purchase, not a cloud subscription; check current availability and price with the seller. See Blackmagic Design’s India product page.
Or let it run in the cloud
For prerecorded YouTube streaming, StreamNeo’s setup is: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer can be off while the cloud keeps the channel streaming. Each slot streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the monthly option is $9.99 per month. Start at StreamNeo’s free trial signup.

- Buying a relay for a looping need, or vice versa: confirm whether the service accepts a live input feed or runs uploaded prerecorded videos; these are distinct workflows.
- Estimating API cost from one rate: include active channel time, configured inputs, each output, resolution, codec, and any distribution or captioning charges. An idle active channel may still be billed.
- Assuming a displayed price includes tax: StreamSetu explicitly says 18% GST is added. Check tax and checkout terms for other providers rather than assuming the listed price is final.
- Choosing a quality the connection cannot sustain: run an upload speed test, test the stream, monitor health, and reduce output quality if the connection is unstable.
- Exposing or misplacing the stream key: enter it only in the intended encoder or service and treat it like a password. If you believe it has been exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube’s live control workflow and update the encoder.
- Assuming prerecorded content is automatically eligible to stream or monetize: only use material you have rights to use, and check YouTube’s copyright and monetization rules. Technical ability to loop a video does not grant permission or guarantee monetization.
For rights and reuse considerations before scheduling a loop, consult YouTube’s copyright guidance and YouTube channel monetization policies.
