If your Livepush stream keeps disconnecting from YouTube, first identify whether YouTube is connected through a linked account or a manually configured RTMP stream key. Then compare Livepush’s incoming-stream and destination status with YouTube’s timestamped stream-health messages. Those checks help locate the failure; the symptom alone does not establish its cause.
1. Identify how YouTube is connected
Livepush supports a linked, one-click YouTube destination and a manual setup using a YouTube event and RTMP stream key. Their recovery steps differ, so confirm which one you use before changing settings.
| Setup | What to check | Configuration detail |
|---|---|---|
| Linked YouTube account | Whether the account is still connected in Livepush | Livepush says a disconnected social account is the usual reason a one-click connection stops working. |
| Manual RTMP stream key | Whether the key and YouTube event are current, and whether the encoder reports a startup error | Livepush’s manual route is configured for each event. Its multichat overlay does not show YouTube live comments. |
Livepush explains linked destinations at its destination guide and manual event setup at its manual connection guide.
2. Follow the recovery path for your setup
If you use a linked account
- Open the YouTube destination in Livepush and check whether the account is shown as connected.
- If it has disconnected, reconnect the YouTube account using Livepush’s authorization flow.
- Save the destination again, then start or test the stream and confirm that its publish status changes as expected.
Reconnecting and resaving is Livepush’s recommended response when a one-click social connection stops working. If authorization succeeds but publishing still fails, compare the platform status messages as described below.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you use a manual stream key
- Check the encoder’s log or status for a YouTube startup error.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and get a new stream key if YouTube reports that the third-party encoder cannot start.
- Update the key in the encoder, verify that it matches the intended YouTube event, and retry. Follow Livepush’s manual configuration for that event.
YouTube documents the new-key recovery step in its live-stream troubleshooting guide. Treat a key as sensitive: do not post it in screenshots, logs shared publicly, or support messages that do not require it.
3. Locate which part of the stream is failing
A Livepush-to-YouTube stream has at least two important connections to distinguish: the source entering Livepush and Livepush’s publishing connection to YouTube. A healthy source does not by itself prove YouTube ingest is healthy, and a YouTube playback complaint does not by itself prove either connection is broken.

- In Livepush, review the source’s incoming bitrate, frame rate, connection stability, and each destination’s publish status. These are monitoring details Livepush says it provides; they are indicators to inspect, not proof of a cause. See Livepush’s monitoring guidance.
- In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, inspect the timestamped stream-health errors. Note when they begin and whether they coincide with a change in Livepush’s incoming or publish status. YouTube’s stream-health error guidance explains the messages.
- Compare those messages with the encoder’s own log. Determine whether the encoder-to-Livepush input fails, only Livepush’s YouTube destination fails, or the publishing path appears healthy while viewers report playback trouble.
- Ask whether the report comes from one viewer or several viewers on different networks. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance considers viewer-side playback, shared-network problems, and encoder issues as distinct possibilities.
Record the exact error text and timestamps before retrying or changing settings. That makes it easier to tell whether a change affected the same failure.
4. Check encoder settings and upload capacity
Use the recommendations for the connection you are configuring. Livepush’s incoming-stream recommendations concern sending video to Livepush; YouTube’s bitrate table concerns YouTube ingest. Do not combine their bitrate ranges or assume that a number outside one service’s recommendation proves why a stream disconnected.

| Service and connection | Published recommendation | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube ingest, H.264, 1080p at 30 fps | 5–14 Mbps | YouTube Help’s displayed recommended range; current page accessed October 3, 2026. |
| YouTube ingest, H.264, 720p at 30 fps | 3–8 Mbps | YouTube Help’s displayed recommended range; current page accessed October 3, 2026. |
| Sending an incoming stream to Livepush, 1080p at 30 fps | 2.5–4.5 Mbps | Livepush Help Center recommendation, 2025; not YouTube’s ingest range. |
| Sending an incoming stream to Livepush, 720p at 30 fps | 1.5–2.5 Mbps | Livepush Help Center recommendation, 2025; not YouTube’s ingest range. |
These are service-published recommendations, not independent test results or a diagnosis of your session. YouTube’s current encoder guidance also recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval, with four seconds as the maximum. Livepush’s January 25, 2025 incoming-stream guide recommends H.264 video, AAC-LC or Opus audio, CBR, and a two-second keyframe interval (four seconds maximum) for its incoming stream. See YouTube’s encoding guidance and Livepush’s incoming-stream settings guide.
- Choose a resolution and frame rate your encoder and connection can sustain continuously; a brief speed-test peak is not a guarantee of steady upload capacity.
- Run a speed test and compare sustained upload capacity with the bitrate you intend to send. YouTube recommends choosing quality the internet connection can reliably support.
- Check whether CPU load or local encoder warnings rise when the stream becomes unstable. YouTube advises reviewing local stream quality and CPU load, updating encoder software, and checking a local recording.
- If the source is on Wi-Fi, test with Ethernet if practical. Livepush suggests a wired connection when investigating instability; it is an optional test, not a universal fix.
YouTube’s instruction is: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.”

5. Test the outbound connection if the encoder looks healthy
If the encoder-to-Livepush input appears stable but YouTube publishing or ingest still fails, test the outbound internet path and follow the error timing. YouTube advises checking local stream quality, encoder CPU load, and a local recording, updating encoder software, and testing outbound internet. If the connection test identifies a problem, YouTube advises contacting the ISP. These checks help narrow the fault; they do not establish in advance whether the ISP, encoder, Livepush, or YouTube is responsible.
6. Troubleshoot by symptom
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| Livepush says the linked YouTube account is disconnected | Reconnect the account and save the destination again. |
| The manual encoder reports a YouTube startup error | Check the event in Live Control Room, obtain a new stream key if directed, update the encoder, and retry. |
| Livepush incoming bitrate or frame rate fluctuates, or its monitor shows dropped or late frames | Check the source encoder, sustained upload capacity, CPU load, and Wi-Fi versus wired connection. A fluctuation is an instability signal, not a confirmed explanation for the disconnect. |
| Incoming source looks stable but the YouTube destination fails | Check Livepush’s destination publish status alongside YouTube’s timestamped health error; verify account authorization or the event’s stream key according to setup type. |
| YouTube appears healthy, but viewers report interruptions | Compare reports from multiple viewers and different networks, and check whether the issue is limited to a viewer or shared network. |
7. What to include when asking for help
To make the problem actionable, provide the setup method (linked account or manual key), the exact Livepush destination status, YouTube’s health message and timestamp, the encoder log around the same time, and whether other destinations fail simultaneously. Do not send a stream key. If the reports are viewer-side, note whether they come from one viewer or several on different networks.
