Memberships: ongoing support for ongoing perks
A member pays monthly for benefits you define. Depending on what you set up, perks can include badges, custom emoji, members-only posts or streams, and members-only chat during public live streams. You can create multiple levels; higher-priced levels can include perks from lower levels. That makes memberships a fit to explore when viewers ask for a continuing way to support the channel or want benefits beyond watching its public stream.
Super Chats and Super Stickers: a one-time purchase in live chat
A viewer buys a Super Chat to make a message stand out, or a Super Sticker to display an animated sticker, during an eligible live stream or Premiere with live chat enabled. The amount can affect how long a Super Chat message remains prominent. Supers are tied to a moment of live interaction rather than a monthly benefits arrangement.

The 70% figures are not identical gross-revenue promises: the feature-specific pages describe different deductions. YouTube’s partner earnings overview also describes a 70% share of net revenues for Commerce Products, including memberships and Supers. Check the current terms that apply to your channel before projecting income.

Check eligibility before planning around either feature
Fan-funding features require YouTube Partner Program participation, being at least 18, residence in a location where the specific feature is available, acceptance of applicable agreements, and satisfaction of feature-specific requirements. YouTube’s monetization overview lists an access tier that includes memberships and Supers: 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the prior 90 days, and either 3,000 eligible public watch hours over 365 days or 3 million Shorts views in 90 days. The same overview cautions that individual features have different eligibility requirements, so these overview thresholds should not be treated as a universal guarantee of access.
YouTube says Supers are automatically available on eligible live streams and Premieres when live chat is on. They remain subject to chat moderation. If a Super is removed for a policy violation, YouTube says it donates its portion to charity. Super reporting is available in YouTube Analytics.

Make the choice practical for a 24/7 channel
Start with a sustainable promise
Before enabling memberships, write down exactly what members receive and how often you can deliver it. A continuous public stream alone does not define a members-only benefit. Avoid promising recurring streams, posts or responses unless you can reliably provide them.
Make live interaction real, even when the channel runs continuously
Supers are most relevant when live chat is enabled and there is a meaningful way for paid messages or stickers to be seen and moderated. Decide who monitors chat, what messages merit acknowledgment, and how you will handle inappropriate or disruptive messages. An unattended loop should not be presented to viewers as a guaranteed personal-response service.

Use audience behavior, not a forecast
- Consider memberships when viewers request continuing perks or a deeper community connection.
- Consider Supers when viewers actively use chat and value having a message or sticker stand out.
- Assess each feature using your own eligible-channel experience and YouTube Analytics; generic documentation does not establish likely conversion or earnings for your channel.
- YouTube’s live-stream guidance presents memberships as potentially useful for a small, passionate niche audience and Supers as a way to acknowledge viewers and interact more quickly. These are suggestions, not performance guarantees.
What YouTube’s guidance does not settle for always-on broadcasts
YouTube’s cited live monetization and feature help explains eligibility and use, but does not establish a maximum continuous-stream duration, how a 24/7 broadcast is archived, or uninterrupted availability of memberships or Supers throughout an always-on stream. Do not assume that either feature will remain available continuously just because the channel is live. Check current YouTube live-stream documentation and the feature status in your own Studio before relying on a particular continuous-stream setup.
