To run a 24/7 YouTube podcast stream, send a looping episode or playlist through an encoder such as OBS, layer episode artwork into the scene, and add a separate audio-reactive visualizer for the waveform. OBS supports image, media, and audio sources and can loop media, but its documented sources do not establish a built-in waveform visualizer. Your computer and encoder must stay running for a local setup; a cloud service can keep prerecorded video streaming without a dedicated PC.
Before you start: check rights and YouTube access
Clear every part of the program
Confirm that you have the necessary rights for each podcast episode, music bed, image, and other material in the stream. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can interrupt or terminate the broadcast. Even if you have a licence, detection may still interrupt the stream unless the relevant content owner has allowlisted your channel through Content ID. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
Allow time to enable live streaming
If this is your first time streaming, YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours. Enable live streaming before the day you plan to launch. The setup process and stream-key guidance are in YouTube’s encoder streaming guide.
Make the scene in OBS
Add episode art and audio

Add the episode artwork as an image source. Resize and position it in the canvas.

Add the episode as a media source. Arrange the source order so the artwork and any other elements appear where intended. OBS scenes can combine image, media, audio, and other sources; see the OBS Sources Guide.

Set the audio levels so the episode is audible without clipping. Preview the scene and listen to the output before broadcasting.
Add a waveform with a separate visualizer
For an audio-reactive waveform, add a separate compatible visualizer implementation to the scene. Do not assume OBS includes a native waveform source: its documented image, media, and audio sources do not establish that feature. Choose a visualizer that works with your OBS version and audio routing, then test that it responds to the podcast audio and is visible in the stream preview before going live. No specific plugin or compatibility combination is established here, so verify the selected implementation independently.

Loop an episode or rotate a playlist
Repeat one episode
For a single file, use an OBS Media Source and enable its Loop setting. The OBS Media Sources documentation describes supported audio and video files and the loop option.
Repeat a playlist
If you want episodes to play in sequence, use OBS’s VLC Video source with a playlist and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for this source. Check the playlist order and test the transition from one item to the next; the source documentation describes looping but does not promise uninterrupted unattended operation.
Connect OBS to YouTube and go live

In YouTube Studio, open Go Live and create a stream or schedule one in Live Control Room.

In OBS, select YouTube as the streaming service if available. Otherwise, enter the server URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. Treat the key like a password: do not share it or show it on screen. OBS’s streaming overview covers service, server, and key configuration.

Start streaming from OBS, then check the YouTube Live Control Room preview and stream health before making the broadcast public or leaving it unattended. YouTube’s encoder guide explains the preview-and-go-live workflow.

Keep OBS and the computer running for the duration of a local broadcast. OBS includes automatic reconnect configuration, but that is not a guarantee that a long-running stream will never need attention; see the OBS Studio overview.
Choose how the stream will stay online

YouTube’s encoder guidance lists Gyre as a cloud option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming without a dedicated PC. The cited information does not establish its pricing, uptime guarantees, or partner terms. For a local build, a “mini PC for OBS streaming” is one possible equipment search, not a YouTube requirement; no minimum specification or particular model is established here.
Plan the replay archive separately
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not establish what happens to one uninterrupted broadcast longer than that, so do not rely on a 24/7 stream becoming one complete replay. If you want dependable on-demand episode pages, publish episodes separately and consider scheduling or segmenting live broadcasts rather than treating the continuous stream as your archive.

Common problems and fixes

Live streaming is not available yet: if this is the channel’s first broadcast, activation may take up to 24 hours. Enable it in advance rather than troubleshooting at launch time.

YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: check that OBS is using the server URL and stream key from the correct Live Control Room stream. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube and update OBS.

The waveform is static or absent: confirm that the visualizer is compatible with your OBS setup, is receiving the same audio that reaches the stream, and is layered visibly in the scene. OBS’s documented sources do not provide a built-in waveform visualizer.

The episode stops instead of repeating: verify that Loop is enabled for a single Media Source. For a playlist, confirm that VLC is installed, the VLC Video source is used, and Loop Playlist is enabled.

The broadcast is interrupted by a copyright match: identify the matched material and resolve the rights or Content ID issue. A licence alone may not prevent interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel.

A 24/7 broadcast is not available as one replay: YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed single archive for longer uninterrupted streams. Publish individual episodes separately when they need their own on-demand pages.
