Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Use YouTube’s recommended encoder settings as your starting point, then choose a bitrate your Airtel connection can sustain from the computer and location that will run OBS. For H.264, YouTube recommends CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and 10 Mbps at 1080p30 or 12 Mbps at 1080p60. Airtel’s advertised “up to” speeds do not establish your home’s sustained upload or guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast.
Recommended OBS settings for a nonstop YouTube stream
In OBS, set rate control to CBR and keyframe interval to 2 seconds. Choose your resolution, frame rate and video bitrate from YouTube’s H.264 recommendations below, then test at the actual streaming location. YouTube says the keyframe interval should not exceed 4 seconds. These bitrate figures are video bitrate recommendations; allow for audio and other upload traffic as well. YouTube’s encoder guidance is the reference for its current settings.
| Ingest resolution and frame rate | Recommended H.264 video bitrate |
|---|---|
| 240p–720p at 30 fps | 4 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 12 Mbps |
| 1440p at 30 fps | 15 Mbps |
| 1440p at 60 fps | 24 Mbps |
| 2160p at 30 fps | 30 Mbps |
| 2160p at 60 fps | 35 Mbps |
For audio, YouTube lists AAC or MP3 for RTMP/RTMPS and recommends 128 Kbps for stereo. YouTube supports H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 over RTMP/RTMPS, and recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. Use a codec your selected OBS encoder supports and that fits the YouTube ingest workflow. If you choose AV1 or H.265, check the live YouTube guidance for that codec’s bitrate range rather than assuming the H.264 figures apply.
Choosing a bitrate for Airtel Xstream Fiber
Do not set OBS to the bitrate implied by an advertised download tier. Measure upload from the streaming computer, over the network path you will actually use, at a time representative of normal household use. Set OBS below the sustained upload you observe, leaving room for fluctuations, audio and other network traffic. This headroom is practical advice: YouTube advises choosing a reliable quality for the connection, and OBS notes that bitrate depends on stable upload.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Airtel describes its broadband speeds as “up to” stated maxima, with plan availability varying by location. Its advertised tier does not establish the upload speed or stability available at a particular address. Check the local plan details and test the connection at home; no published plan figure can substitute for that measurement. Check Airtel’s broadband plan information and availability.
Set up and test OBS before leaving a stream running
- Create or select the broadcast. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or choose your broadcast and copy its stream key into OBS. Keep the key private; anyone with access may be able to broadcast to your channel. See YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance.
- Configure OBS. Set CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval and the resolution, frame rate and bitrate appropriate to your measured upload. Select a supported encoder and use RTMPS where available.
- Test realistic content. Include the audio and amount of movement expected in the stream. YouTube Help says: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream. Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you’ll be doing in the stream.”
- Check both dashboards. Watch YouTube’s stream-health status and OBS connection statistics during the test. Look for dropped frames, connection warnings, audio problems and unstable ingest before relying on the setup.
- Address network drops first. If OBS reports dropped network frames, investigate the connection and local network rather than raising the encoder bitrate. OBS recommends connection troubleshooting, including trying a different server when applicable. OBS dropped-frames troubleshooting.
Plan for Airtel’s data policy and long-running broadcasts
Airtel markets plans as unlimited, but its broadband terms describe a 3333 GB monthly fair-usage threshold; after it, service speed may be reduced to 1 Mbps. The terms also say the FUP may be amended. Confirm the terms for your market and current plan before relying on a long-running stream. Airtel broadband terms and conditions.

Estimate monthly use using the combined audio and video bitrate and the number of hours streamed. As an approximation, each sustained 1 Mbps consumes about 0.45 GB per hour before overhead; for example, 10 Mbps of video plus 128 Kbps stereo audio is roughly 4.6 GB per hour, or about 3.3 TB over 30 days of continuous streaming. Actual use can differ with bitrate variation and protocol overhead, so treat this as a planning estimate, not an Airtel measurement. Compare that estimate with the applicable FUP and allow for all other household usage.
A nonstop setup also depends on YouTube’s current continuous-broadcast and archiving rules. The cited YouTube encoder guidance does not establish a maximum broadcast duration or promise indefinite live availability. Check YouTube’s current live-stream policies and settings before planning a 24/7 schedule; do not treat a stable OBS connection as a guarantee of unlimited YouTube uptime.

Troubleshooting common OBS and fiber problems
- YouTube reports poor stream health: reduce the output bitrate to a level the actual upload can sustain, then run another representative test. Confirm audio and movement are included.
- OBS shows dropped frames: this points to a connection issue rather than proof that the encoder needs more bitrate. Check the measured upload and local network use; follow OBS’s connection troubleshooting, including trying another server where appropriate.
- The stream starts but becomes unstable later: check whether other devices or services are using upload capacity and whether the connection remains stable over time. Retest from the same machine and location rather than relying on the plan’s advertised maximum.
- Performance changes after heavy monthly usage: check Airtel’s current FUP terms and usage status. The stated terms describe possible speed reduction after the monthly threshold, which may leave insufficient upload for the chosen stream.
- OBS cannot connect to YouTube: verify the selected broadcast and stream key in Live Control Room, ensure the key has not been changed, and keep it private. Recheck the ingest protocol and connection after updating settings.
