Start with one to three levels, choose from the current India price points shown in YouTube Studio, and make each higher level worth its added cost through a perk you can deliver consistently. Then use audience feedback and YouTube Analytics to refine the offer.
Start with the value members are paying for
A continuous public livestream is already the channel’s free offering. Membership should add a distinct benefit or provide a clear way to support the channel—not imply that paying members are buying uninterrupted access to a stream that is already public.
YouTube’s channel membership pricing guidance says many viewers may join to support a channel without expecting substantial perks. That makes an accessible support tier a reasonable starting point, provided its description is honest about what members receive. YouTube recommends that many creators begin with one to three levels, although channels can offer up to six.
Choose perks that fit a 24/7 channel
Possible benefits include members-only livestreams, videos or Shorts; selected chat features; recognition; or a members-only way to participate. These are examples, not requirements. YouTube’s available membership benefits vary by channel, and higher levels include the perks from lower levels.

Do not promise always-on personal attention, bespoke requests or constant moderation unless you can reliably provide them alongside the continuous stream. YouTube advises weighing the cost and effort of delivering a perk against the value viewers may see in it.
Use YouTube’s current India price points
The YouTube Help pricing page accessed for this article lists the following newer India price points. They are selectable amounts, not recommended prices for every channel:

YouTube says pricing updates that began rolling out in May 2025 are gradual. Its India pricing page also retains a previous schedule; avoid mixing those older amounts with the newer choices when planning a new offer. Existing members may still see a price based on when they joined. Check the live selector in Studio before publishing, since the available prices and rollout state can change.
Build one to three levels that are easy to explain
- Pick an accessible entry level. Consider your audience’s location and demographics, then select a current India price point that fits the intended viewers. Give people a plain reason to join, such as supporting the channel or receiving a specific low-effort benefit.
- Add a higher level only for a real upgrade. State what changes at that level. Because perks stack, the higher level must include lower-level benefits as well as its added perk.
- Check delivery effort before committing. Estimate the recurring work for each benefit, including production and moderation. Prefer perks you can maintain without making the public 24/7 stream operationally fragile.
- Ask viewers what they value. YouTube recommends soliciting feedback; a members-only post or poll can help distinguish a genuinely wanted perk from one that only sounds appealing to the creator.
- Review and adjust using channel evidence. Use the Memberships tab and Analytics to assess member response, engagement and revenue. No official conversion study establishes one optimal rupee price for Indian viewers or continuous-stream channels, so treat your own channel’s results as the guide.
Account for international members and recurring billing
Membership prices can vary by viewer country and platform. An India-focused channel may therefore have international members who see localized prices rather than the amount shown to viewers in India.

Memberships are recurring monthly payments. In India, YouTube notes that RBI eMandate requirements may require members to verify or re-enter payment details to maintain membership; some banks may not support recurring payments. This is a member billing issue to be ready to explain, not a reason to promise uninterrupted access regardless of payment status.
Estimate revenue without treating the sticker price as your payout
YouTube says creators receive 70% of membership revenue recognized by Google after local sales tax and other fees; the amount can vary by country and platform. YouTube currently covers payment processing fees. The 70% figure is therefore not 70% of the displayed price in every case, and a reliable rupee net estimate requires assumptions about applicable deductions and platform.

YouTube also says creators may update prices for new members once every 12 months from the prior change; existing members keep their original price. Check the current membership settings and terms in Studio before making a change, and account for the fact that new and existing members may not share the same price.

Before planning a launch, verify that your channel meets YouTube’s current eligibility, location and policy requirements. You must accept the Commerce Product Module and enable memberships in YouTube Studio’s Earn section. YouTube says activation may not be immediate after YPP acceptance because the channel remains subject to review; its setup guidance says that review can take up to two days.

Keep the stream operation separate from the membership offer
