A former vendor at World Food Trucks in Kissimmee says a lease-renewal dispute ended with only hours to move her truck after she declined new terms. Her account, reported by WKMG News 6 on October 2, 2026, includes a request for access to her point-of-sale (POS) system and a proposed term she understood as taking 60 percent of what remained if she broke a renewed lease. The park disputes her characterization and says vendors pay fixed weekly rent, not a percentage of sales. The available reporting does not include the lease or establish what either side could legally enforce.
What happened at World Food Trucks?
Gabriella Santos, the former operator of Los Cipotes, told WKMG News 6 / ClickOrlando that she had rented space at World Food Trucks in Kissimmee for about a decade. During discussions about renewing her lease, she says a manager asked to access her truck’s point-of-sale system and connected that access to calculating rent.
Santos says she declined the new terms and was told she had only hours to move the truck. Her account is the basis for the reported midnight deadline; the available report does not include a written demand to vacate or a detailed chronology from the park. WKMG quoted the park as saying it provides a place for more than 100 businesses, a figure the park supplied rather than an independently verified count.
Why did the park reportedly want access to the POS system?
According to Santos’s recollection, the manager said access was needed to determine rent. WKMG quoted her: “She said wanted access to the POS, and I said ‘Why do you need access to that?’” Santos said. “’Oh it’s because that’s how we’re going to balance how much your rent is going to be.’”

This is Santos’s account of the conversation. The report does not establish the manager’s intent, reproduce a written policy requiring POS access, or show the complete proposed lease. It therefore cannot establish precisely what information the park sought, how access would have worked, or whether the request was enforceable.
Did the park demand 60 percent of her sales?
Not according to Santos’s clarification. She said she was describing what she felt the proposed term would do to her business, not alleging a literal demand for 60 percent of her sales. WKMG quoted her: “I never said that,” she said. “What I said was that they wanted 60 percent of my business because that’s how I feel. That’s my personal feeling of what you’re doing to me. You’re taking my profits.”

World Food Trucks rejected that characterization. In a statement quoted by WKMG, the park said: “That claim is completely false.” It added that vendors pay “a fixed weekly rent, rather than a percentage of their food sales.” Santos’s description concerned what she understood she might lose if she broke a renewed lease; the article does not reproduce the clause, so its precise meaning cannot be independently assessed.
What other concerns did Santos raise?
Santos also cited safety concerns, rising operating costs, new fees, out-of-pocket event expenses and falling sales as the park added trucks. These are her criticisms, not independently audited findings. WKMG described her post as receiving millions of views and prompting online boycott calls, but reported no precise view count or independently measured effect on the park or vendors.

What does Florida law or permitting establish?
Florida Statutes § 509.101 says operators of public lodging establishments or public food service establishments may set reasonable rules for their establishments and addresses how such rules are treated and posted. The section does not, by itself, decide whether World Food Trucks could inspect a vendor’s sales system or enforce the lease terms Santos described. The contract and the parties’ circumstances would matter to any legal assessment.
Food-truck permits are a separate issue from a private lease disagreement. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services says it regulates certain mobile food establishments, while mobile vendors providing food service are permitted by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Which agency applies depends on the food activity and circumstances. A change in location or ownership can affect permit requirements in some cases, so a vendor facing relocation should confirm requirements with the relevant agency rather than assume the lease dispute determines permit status.

What can food-truck operators check in a park lease?
This dispute does not establish what terms are common across food-truck parks. For an agreement being considered or renewed, operators can look closely at:
- Whether rent is fixed, linked to sales, or includes both; how sales are defined and calculated.
- What POS data or system access is requested, who can access it, and what it may be used for.
- Additional fees, event expenses and any costs charged outside base rent.
- Notice and cure periods, termination rights, and payments due if the agreement ends early.
- Whether and how the truck may be moved, including deadlines and required approvals.
Those are practical review points, not claims about Santos’s undisclosed lease. A qualified commercial attorney can assess the actual written agreement and the circumstances of a particular dispute.

What remains unresolved?
The complete proposed lease, the manager’s account, a full timeline, any written move-out notice and whether either party has pursued legal action are not established in the WKMG report. The report presents Santos’s account and the park’s response; it does not provide a court ruling or otherwise resolve their disagreement.
