But uploading a spec to the Documentation Library does not, by itself, establish that a particular validator will use it: the document must be attached to the relevant rule. Adding that rule to a Jira transition is a separate workflow-configuration step.
Make the API specification context for the intended rule
LeanZero describes CogniRunner’s Documentation Library as a place to store API documentation, JSON schemas, business rules, and code snippets, then attach those documents to a rule so they are sent to the AI as context. CogniRunner product documentation
- Add the specification to the Documentation Library. Use the library for the API documentation or schema you want the validator to consult.
- Attach that document to the specific rule. Library storage and rule attachment are separate. Do not assume a rule automatically receives every document in the library.
- Check the rule’s configuration. Confirm the intended specification is attached to the validator that will run for the Jira transition.
- Try a representative transition. Verify the rule behaves as intended with an example issue and the fields it validates. A document being passed as context is not a guarantee that an AI model will interpret every requirement correctly.
The vendor describes attached documents as context alongside issue-field content. That is different from proving reliable, clause-by-clause API conformance checking. CogniRunner product documentation
Add the validator to a Jira transition separately
Making the spec available to a rule does not install that rule in a workflow. CogniRunner validators are attached to Jira workflow transitions through Jira’s workflow REST API, using Jira credentials, according to LeanZero’s documentation. CogniRunner workflow and API documentation

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
CogniRunner’s separate Rules API is documented for listeners and scheduled jobs; it is not the endpoint for attaching a validator to a workflow transition. CogniRunner workflow and API documentation
Preserve the full workflow when updating it
LeanZero describes workflow updates as a read-modify-write operation on the whole workflow and warns that transitions omitted from an update may be deleted. Do not send a partial workflow configuration without preserving the existing transitions. Read the current workflow, make the intended change, submit the complete configuration, and then verify that the validator is attached to the right transition and the other transitions remain present. Check format support and data handling for your deployment
The available vendor material does not establish that every AI provider or model supports every document format in the same way. Confirm support for the file type with the provider and CogniRunner version used in your deployment rather than assuming a universal compatibility matrix.
CogniRunner’s Marketplace privacy and security responses say Jira field content is sent to an external AI provider for validation. These are publisher-provided statements, not an independent audit; check the provider and data-handling configuration actually enabled for your installation.
