One quota is shared between the two services, but they remain separate: data stored as objects cannot be accessed through myQNAPcloud Storage. QNAP is primarily targeting its NAS owners and business users who need an off-site backup destination, object storage, or both.
What does myQNAPcloud One include?
The subscription combines two cloud services under one plan:
- myQNAPcloud Storage: file-based cloud storage designed for backing up a QNAP NAS.
- myQNAPcloud Object: S3-compatible object storage for workloads that use an object-storage interface or API.
Subscribers draw on a shared plan capacity across the services rather than purchasing a separate subscription for each. That shared quota is a billing and capacity arrangement, not a common file system: object data accessed through the S3 API is not accessible through myQNAPcloud Storage. In QNAP’s Hybrid Backup Sync and HybridMount applications, the services appear as distinct cloud providers. QNAP’s product page and FAQ describe the integration and the separation between the storage types.
Who is QNAP targeting?
QNAP NAS owners seeking off-site backup
The clearest audience is people and organizations already using QNAP NAS hardware who want a remote destination for backups. QNAP says the service integrates with its Hybrid Backup Sync and HybridMount applications. Before subscribing for a particular backup workflow, check the current documentation for your NAS model, application version, region, and required features.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Businesses that need NAS backup, object storage, or both
QNAP also positions the plan for businesses that want predictable storage costs or need to combine NAS backups with S3-compatible object storage. Its February 6, 2026 launch announcement names healthcare, finance, and education as example sectors with security or compliance needs. Those examples describe QNAP’s intended market; they do not establish that the service has a particular independent compliance certification.
myQNAPcloud One is a cloud subscription, not a NAS appliance. A QNAP NAS is relevant to the backup use case, but the service itself is the remote storage destination.

How to decide whether the two storage services fit your workload
Choose based on how your applications need to store and retrieve data, not simply on the shared quota. Consider:
- Workload: file-based NAS backup points toward myQNAPcloud Storage; an application built for S3-compatible object storage points toward myQNAPcloud Object.
- Access method: confirm whether you need QNAP’s storage integration or an S3-compatible client/API. The access paths are not interchangeable.
- Capacity split: estimate how much of the subscribed quota each service will use. Sharing capacity does not merge the data or make it accessible through both services.
- Region and plan: check the current plan page for available data-center regions, plan sizes, billing terms, and feature tiers.
- Protection requirements: verify that the controls, retention behavior, and activity monitoring offered for your selected tier match your needs.
What features and limits should you check?
In its February 6, 2026 launch announcement, QNAP listed free data transmission and API requests, object-lock functionality, NAS backup integration, 180-day user activity monitoring, expiring file shares, and up to 100 file versions. Those figures and features are QNAP’s published descriptions of advanced myQNAPcloud Storage; availability can depend on the plan tier. The US pricing page distinguishes myQNAPcloud One from plain myQNAPcloud Storage plans, so confirm that a feature is included in the specific offer you intend to buy.

“Free” data transmission and API requests do not mean unlimited use. QNAP says a fair-use policy dynamically controls concurrent API requests and upload, download, and system-database resources based on account storage volume. QNAP’s launch announcement also reported 13 global data centers; check the current plan page for available regions rather than assuming every location is offered to every customer.
QNAP’s announcement described an early-access period in 2025. Product Manager Vivian Luo said the service was “validated through early access usage in 2025,” but this is QNAP’s account of its own testing, not an independent customer study or performance benchmark. The cited material does not establish real-world speed or durability results.

What does it cost, and what happens if you cancel?
QNAP’s US pricing page listed the 1 TB myQNAPcloud One plan at USD 8.39 per month when checked on October 3, 2026. The same price appeared in QNAP’s February 6, 2026 launch announcement. At launch, QNAP said annual plans could save up to 18%, which would make the effective monthly price about USD 6.99 for 1 TB at that time. The maximum advertised saving is not a guaranteed discount for every plan or region; use the current pricing page for the applicable price and billing terms.
QNAP states that subscriptions are non-refundable, though you can cancel to prevent renewal. Its product FAQ describes a grace period after expiry, followed by limited access for downloading and deleting files; data may be deleted if the account remains over its available capacity. Because expiry handling and terms can change, review QNAP’s current product FAQ before relying on a particular recovery window.

Is myQNAPcloud One the right fit?
It is aimed most directly at QNAP NAS users who want cloud backup, and at businesses that also need—or separately use—S3-compatible object storage. Its main distinction is that both services share subscription capacity without becoming the same storage location or access method. If you need only one of those workloads, check the relevant plan and feature tier; if you need both, confirm how your applications will divide and access the shared capacity.
