When did the Canon EOS Rebel T3i come out?
Canon Latin America announced the Rebel T3i on February 14, 2011, describing it at the time as a new flagship model in the Rebel line. What kind of camera is the T3i?
The Rebel T3i, also known as the EOS 600D in some markets, is a digital single-lens reflex camera. Canon’s specifications describe it as approximately 18 megapixels, with an EF lens mount compatible with both EF and EF-S lenses. It records to SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards. These specifications identify the camera and its compatibility; the megapixel figure alone does not determine image quality by current standards. Is the Rebel T3i still useful?

For a purchase decision, check the specific camera’s condition and price, and judge its autofocus and video capabilities against what you plan to shoot. Canon’s specifications are a useful starting point, not a current comparison with newer models.
