Samsung’s U.S. Galaxy S26 prices were reported to rise by $100 across most configurations on October 1, 2026, with the 1 TB Galaxy S26 Ultra rising by $200. The same report says some iPhone prices and the Pixel 11 series had already increased, so those changes are not merely a possibility—but the reporting does not show that Samsung caused them.
What changed in Samsung’s Galaxy S26 prices?
Investing.com reported on October 1, 2026, that Samsung raised U.S. prices by $100 across most of the Galaxy S26 lineup. The 1 TB Galaxy S26 Ultra was the exception, with a reported $200 increase. The report listed these prices after the changes:

The figures come from Investing.com’s October 1 report and the Associated Press launch report. The launch prices are February baselines, not the post-October prices. The AP also noted that the S26 and S26+ launched $100 above comparable models in each of the prior two years; that earlier comparison is separate from Samsung’s later adjustment.
Have iPhone and Pixel prices gone up too?
According to the October 1 report, Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro line and some older iPhones had already become more expensive, and the Pixel 11 series cost more than its predecessor. That does not establish that every iPhone or Pixel model rose in price, or that the increases apply outside the markets described. The report does not provide a complete model-by-model or regional comparison.

Nor does the timing prove a Samsung-led domino effect. The report presents the changes as occurring amid memory-chip shortages and rising consumer-electronics costs, but that context is not proof of why any individual company made a specific pricing decision.
What is established about Samsung’s reason?
The available reporting does not establish that Samsung publicly identified memory costs as the reason for this October U.S. price adjustment. In a March 2, 2026, Tom’s Guide interview about the S26 and S26+ pricing and upgrades, Samsung America senior vice president of mobile product management Drew Blackard said, “We’ve been able to maintain prices for a pretty long time.” That comment provides launch-period context; it should not be read as an explanation of the October revision. How to compare the price you will actually pay
A phone’s list price and a carrier promotion’s advertised savings are not always directly comparable. Check the exact configuration and the conditions attached to any offer before deciding whether to buy now, wait, or switch carriers.
- Match the model and storage tier. The reported 1 TB Ultra increase differs from the increases on most other configurations.
- Use the right baseline. Compare today’s U.S. list price with the February launch price for the same model, rather than treating launch-versus-predecessor changes as part of the October adjustment.
- Separate unlocked price from carrier net cost. A carrier offer may require a trade-in, new service, or a qualifying plan. T-Mobile’s promotional offers page, accessed October 3, 2026, includes Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, and iPhone deals with such conditions; some promotions deliver credits monthly.
- Read the full promotion terms. Check trade-in eligibility, required plan, credit duration, and any amount due up front. A conditional monthly credit is not the same as an unconditional reduction in the phone’s price.
Should you buy near launch or wait?
The reported October adjustment shows that a U.S. Galaxy S26 price can change after launch, but it does not establish that prices will keep rising. If you do not need a replacement now, the reporting alone cannot tell you whether waiting will save money. Before purchasing, verify the live price for your exact model and storage tier, then compare it with any carrier offer after accounting for its service and trade-in requirements.
