King Green reportedly said Arnold Barboza Jr.’s intervention was “not the move” because Green was trying to keep the confrontation with Esteban Ribovics cool. The argument happened outside the UFC 332 weigh-ins after Ribovics missed the reported 156-pound lightweight limit; Green made weight. The available explanation comes from a secondary reproduction of a Happy Punch post, not a directly verified full interview or transcript.

What did King Green say Barboza did wrong?

A search-result reproduction of a Happy Punch post attributes this explanation to Green: “I was trying to be cool. That’s not the move.” The fragment suggests Green felt Barboza’s involvement worked against his attempt to keep the situation calm. Because the original post or complete clip was not directly verified, the quote should not be treated as a full account of what Green said or as proof of the surrounding context.

Why did Green and Ribovics argue?

MMA Mania reported that Ribovics missed the 156-pound limit for his scheduled UFC 332 lightweight bout with Green, while Green made weight. According to that account, Green was unhappy about the miss even though Ribovics reportedly faced a 20% purse deduction. Those figures and the stated trigger are MMA Mania’s event reporting, not independently verified commission records.

The exchange took place outside the weigh-ins, where Green and Barboza, Green’s friend and a professional boxer, confronted Ribovics and his team. MMA Mania’s account includes Green shouting, “Back the f—k up! Don’t f—king touch me,” and, “We can get down right now!”
