What BlackRAW Studio can do with ProRes RAW
TRISIMIO SL’s US App Store listing describes BlackRAW Studio as a footage review, color correction, and basic editing app for iPhone and iPad. It lists support for Apple ProRes RAW, Blackmagic RAW, and other supported video formats. The controls available depend on the source footage.
Version 2.1’s history lists ProRes RAW controls for white balance, tint, ISO, exposure, and highlight recovery. Those controls should not be assumed to appear for every file: the listing says compatibility and available options depend on codec, file, system version, and device.
For grading and editing, the listing describes primary adjustments, color wheels, curves, HSL, and ColorSlice. You can grade clips individually or apply a shared finish to a timeline, trim shots, and export clips separately or as a continuous sequence.

Can it trim or export the original ProRes RAW file?
No, not according to the developer’s listing. BlackRAW Studio distinguishes ProRes RAW from BRAW: it says BRAW originals can be trimmed to Files without re-encoding or baking in the grade, but explicitly says that original-RAW trimming does not apply to ProRes RAW.
For ProRes RAW, the listed delivery route is a rendered export. Export formats depend on the export mode and device and may include H.264, HEVC, or ProRes 422. The listing describes Studio deliveries as SDR; it does not promise a ProRes RAW export or preservation of the source’s RAW data.

Export, LUTs, and pricing
The App Store listing says export requires Pro, so downloading the app does not by itself provide export. Apple’s US storefront displayed these Pro prices on October 3, 2026:

The app can import .cube LUTs and export static looks as .cube files. A LUT is not a complete project file: the listing cautions that it does not contain trims, edits, or RAW decoding parameters.
Requirements and importing footage
The US listing specifies iOS 17.0 or later for iPhone and iPadOS 17.0 or later for iPad. It also lists Mac compatibility from macOS 14.0 with an Apple M1 chip or later, while flagging that Mac verification is limited. Those additional platform details do not change the iPhone requirements.

The listing says multiple clips can be opened from Files or Photos, and exports can be saved to Files or Photos when the format allows. A German App Store description also mentions opening clips directly from a camera SSD, but that does not establish compatibility with every drive, cable, or iPhone. External storage is an optional workflow aid; check that your device, media, and connection work together.

Apple’s general ProRes guidance says ProRes video can be edited in Photos or iMovie on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, in Final Cut Pro for iPad and Mac, and in video-editing apps that support ProRes. That is general ProRes context, not a guarantee that each app offers ProRes RAW controls.

Who should consider it?
- Potential fit: iPhone users who want to review and grade supported footage, including ProRes RAW, and can work with a rendered SDR export.
- Not a fit for preserving the original ProRes RAW: the listing does not offer original-RAW trimming for that format.
- Check before relying on it: confirm your particular footage, device, system version, and desired export mode are supported, since the developer makes compatibility conditional on those factors.
