Samsung’s guidance identifies these as possible causes, but does not establish that an update changed a setting on your phone.
Match the change you see to a setting

Menu labels and paths are not identical across all Galaxy phones. Samsung cautions: “Menu names, settings, and screen layouts may vary depending on the model and software version.” If a path is missing, search for the setting by name in the Settings app. Samsung Support
Adjust color saturation with Screen mode
Open Settings > Display > Screen mode. Samsung describes Vivid as richer in color and Natural as softer and less saturated. Neither is universally better; choose the appearance you prefer. On supported devices, Vivid also provides white-balance and more detailed color adjustments. Some third-party apps may not be fully compatible with Vivid. Samsung Canada’s Screen mode guide
For Galaxy S26 models, Samsung notes that AMOLED color tone may appear slightly different because of display characteristics. Its S26 guidance also says that Natural mode, Eye comfort shield, or Adaptive color tone can hide Advanced settings for white balance and vividness; this is specific to that model guidance, not a rule for every Galaxy. Check other display controls if the change is not about color
If the interface seems larger or smaller, look at font size and screen zoom. If the overall interface looks light or dark, check Dark mode. For changed scrolling or animation, inspect motion smoothness. For brightness that changes with surroundings, check adaptive brightness. Refresh-rate options also depend on the model. Samsung Canada describes Standard as 60 Hz and Adaptive as varying up to 120 Hz; some devices have a High option. Power Saving Mode can switch the display to Standard. These settings are relevant when motion or scrolling feels different, not when the main problem is color. Samsung Canada’s display guide

If the screen still looks wrong
- Restart the phone to rule out a temporary system issue.
- Check whether the display is cracked or otherwise physically damaged.
- If the appearance remains abnormal, contact Samsung Support or a service center. Samsung identifies settings, software version, app compatibility, temporary system errors, and physical impact as possible factors in display problems. Samsung’s display troubleshooting guide
The timing after an update is useful context, but by itself it does not show that the update caused the appearance change. If the settings above do not account for it, Samsung’s support guidance does not identify a single cause for every case.
