As of October 3, 2026: SoFi’s crypto transfer promotion offers eligible members a one-time $300 bonus in SOFID for transferring at least $1,000 in qualifying cryptocurrency to an active, verified SoFi Crypto account and keeping the qualifying principal through the required holding period. It is an inbound-transfer offer, not a reward for buying crypto on SoFi. The offer is scheduled to run through October 14, 2027, but SoFi may change or end it without notice; check the current promotion terms and the in-app Receive screen before sending anything.
How the SoFi crypto transfer promotion works
To qualify, transfer at least $1,000 in one or more supported cryptocurrencies from an external wallet or platform into SoFi Crypto. If you meet the account and residency rules and retain the qualifying principal through the required hold, SoFi says it will pay a one-time $300 bonus in SOFID. The stated reward is fixed in token amount, not a guarantee that the reward or transferred assets will retain a particular dollar value.

These dates and figures are from SoFi’s promotion terms. The offer page is controlling for eligibility and timing; confirm it again before initiating a transfer because SoFi says it may modify, suspend, or terminate the promotion without notice.
Who is eligible
SoFi’s terms say both new and existing SoFi Crypto members may qualify, provided the account is active, verified, and in good standing when the qualifying transfer is initiated. The member must be at least 18 and a legal resident of one of the 50 U.S. states or Washington, D.C. The promotion is limited to one per account. Review the full offer terms for any additional conditions that apply to your account.

Which crypto assets and networks to check
The offer terms list AAVE, BONK, BTC, ETH, FLOKI, LDO, LINK, LTC, POL, SHIB, SOL, SOFID, UNI, USDC, XLM, and XRP as eligible. SoFi’s separate transfer-help page lists supported inbound assets and their networks. The current help page lists 15 inbound cryptocurrencies, and its list includes both USDC and Ethereum as separate entries; use the asset and network shown by SoFi’s live Receive instructions rather than relying on a ticker alone.

SoFi’s support page provides the network-specific details: cryptocurrencies you can transfer into a SoFi Crypto account. Check both the eligible-asset list and the Receive screen immediately before sending; support and offer eligibility are related but distinct checks.

How to make the transfer more safely
- Confirm qualification first. Read the live promotion terms and verify that your SoFi Crypto account meets the requirements.
- Open SoFi Crypto’s Receive instructions. Select the exact asset and copy the network and destination information displayed there.
- Match the sending wallet’s asset and network. SoFi instructs users to check that the correct cryptocurrency and network are selected in the sending wallet. Do not assume two assets with the same ticker or name use interchangeable networks.
- Include required routing information. For XLM, include the memo shown by SoFi; for XRP, include the destination tag. A missing or incorrect memo or tag can prevent the transfer from being credited correctly.
- Check the amount and hold implications. Make sure the qualifying transfer reaches at least $1,000 under the promotion’s terms, and only transfer assets you can leave in the account through the holding period.
Crypto transfers are generally final and irreversible, according to SoFi’s crypto information. An incorrect network or missing destination detail may create a recovery problem, so follow the live Receive screen rather than sending based on old instructions.
What the one-year hold means
The required holding period runs from October 15, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. ET through October 14, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. ET. SoFi says voluntarily withdrawing any qualifying principal during that period forfeits the bonus. This is not an offer where you can transfer in, receive the reward immediately, and then promptly withdraw the assets. Consider whether you can tolerate having the principal committed for roughly a year, including the possibility that its market value changes during that time.

What you receive—and what SOFID is not
The $300 reward is paid in SOFID, also called SoFiUSD, rather than dollars. SoFi describes SOFID as a payment stablecoin intended to be redeemable one-to-one for U.S. dollars, but that intended redemption is not a guarantee. SoFi says SOFID is not a deposit, is not FDIC- or SIPC-insured, and is not legal tender; it may be subject to delay, disruption, or permanent loss. The value of transferred crypto can rise or fall while it is held, and SoFi does not guarantee returns. The value of the SOFID reward also depends on the stablecoin’s practical redemption and transfer conditions; its intended one-to-one dollar redemption does not eliminate the risks SoFi describes.

SoFi says the bonus may be taxable income and could be reported on Form 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, or 1042-S. Members are responsible for applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
