A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11More U.S. Amazon Prime customers may now qualify for a refund under the Federal Trade Commission’s settlement, but eligibility depends on how they enrolled or tried to cancel, when it happened, and how many Prime benefits they used. The current eligibility window is June 23, 2019, through June 23, 2025, and the threshold is no more than 20 benefits in any 12-month period. The claim form deadline has passed, but some eligible people may still receive automatic payments.
Who may qualify for an Amazon Prime settlement refund?
According to the FTC’s Amazon Refunds page, you may qualify if all three conditions apply:
- You were an Amazon Prime customer in the United States.
- Between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, you either signed up through one of the enrollment flows challenged by the FTC or tried to cancel through Amazon’s online cancellation flow but could not.
- After enrolling, you used no more than 20 Prime benefits in any 12-month period.
The FTC identifies the challenged sign-up flows as the universal Prime decision page, shipping selection page, single-page checkout, and Prime Video enrollment flow. Prime benefits include offerings such as Prime Music and Prime Video. Eligibility is not limited to people who used fewer than three benefits; that threshold appeared in an earlier description of the first payment phase, not the current full eligibility criteria.
What does the $1.5 billion settlement cover?
The settlement totals $2.5 billion: up to $1.5 billion for consumer redress and a $1 billion civil penalty, according to the FTC’s September 2026 announcement. The FTC reported that more than $845 million in redress payments had been issued by September 2026.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The revised order raises the maximum total payment for an eligible person from the earlier $51 cap to $200. That is a ceiling, not a promised payment: individual amounts and any additional round depend on eligibility and the settlement’s payment conditions. The revised arrangement includes further payments for some people who already received accepted payments, subject to the overall cap.
Can you still file a claim?
No. The final day to submit the claims form was July 27, 2026. Missing that deadline does not automatically rule out a payment. Under the revised order, Amazon may identify some eligible people from its records for automatic payment even if they did not submit a claim or submitted an invalid one, as long as they meet the order’s criteria, have not already been paid, and are not subject to a holdback.

The FTC says no current claim action is required: eligible consumers do not need to file another claim, answer a notice, or complete additional forms. Amazon will issue payment by check or electronically through PayPal or Venmo. The September 2026 court order provides for the automatic-payment expansion to people in the 11-to-20-benefit group beginning October 1, 2026, excluding people previously paid.
When could a payment arrive, and how much might it be?
The FTC says eligible consumers should receive a refund by April 2027. The revised order also describes a possible pro-rata distribution of remaining funds to people who already accepted payments; whether that later round occurs, and its amount, depend on total accepted payments. The FTC’s announcement describes supplemental payments beginning by April 2027 if accepted consumer payments have not reached the relevant threshold by February 2027.

Why can’t the public criteria confirm an individual’s eligibility?
The public rules can help you assess whether your circumstances fit, but they cannot establish what happened in a specific account. Amazon’s records are used to identify the enrollment or cancellation flow, benefit use, previous payments, and holdback status. The FTC’s refund page and revised order do not provide a public account-by-account eligibility checker.
