What makes it work for you: the silhouette, colors, theme, a hard-won achievement, or the way the pieces come together?
What counts as an MMO outfit?
Different games use “outfit” for different kinds of character looks. In some systems, a single full-body costume takes precedence over other armor cosmetics; in others, players change the appearance of individual gear pieces. If you use a game-specific term such as glamour, transmog, or fashion template, include it so other players know what you mean.
Final Fantasy XIV: glamour
Final Fantasy XIV calls its appearance-changing system glamour. Square Enix’s UI guide says, “Glamours are cast from Actions & Traits, an item’s subcommands, or from the glamour dresser in inn rooms.” The guide describes ways to apply glamour; it does not establish that every item, job, or situation follows identical rules.
World of Warcraft: transmog
World of Warcraft uses transmog for gear appearances. Blizzard’s updated transmog overview describes outfits that can switch automatically for different situations. It also says updating an outfit’s style costs gold, while players do not need to visit a transmog vendor to fix the look whenever they collect and equip new gear. That is a description of the cited update, not a claim that every transmog action is free.

Guild Wars 2: outfits and individual skins
Guild Wars 2 distinguishes full-body outfits from individual cosmetic skins. Its Fashion Templates support article says an outfit selected in the top cosmetic slot overrides other armor cosmetics in that template. It also describes separate rules for changing skins and dyes, including a Transmutation Charge cost for updating a cosmetic skin in the stated circumstances. The article’s exact current interface and cost details should be checked in the game or current support guidance.
A historical Guild Wars 2 wardrobe announcement explains the original wardrobe concept, including account use of collected armor and weapon skins and outfits as single outfit skins; it is historical context, not a guide to every current interface detail.

Tell us about the look you’re wearing now
Share enough detail for someone else to picture your character. You might mention the game, the outfit or key pieces, and the look’s defining feature. A short explanation of why it is your favorite can make the conversation more interesting: perhaps the colors match, the silhouette feels right, the theme tells a story, or earning one piece made the whole set meaningful.
- Game and character: Which MMO are you playing, and who is wearing the look?
- Pieces or costume: Is it one complete outfit, a coordinated set, or a mix of individual appearances?
- What makes it yours: Is the appeal visual, personal, tied to an achievement, or simply how the pieces work together?
These examples describe different systems, not a ranking: feature documentation can explain how a look is applied or saved, but it cannot decide which game—or which outfit—is best. The favorite is yours. Tell us: what’s your current favorite MMO outfit?
