The Red Robin at Sikes Senter Mall in Wichita Falls, Texas, is scheduled to close Sunday, October 4, 2026, according to a September 23 report from KAUZ. The station reported that it was told the lease was ending and moving the restaurant elsewhere would be too expensive.
Which Red Robin is closing, and when?
The announcement concerns the restaurant inside Sikes Senter Mall in Wichita Falls—not every Red Robin location. KAUZ reported that its scheduled final day is Sunday, October 4, 2026. As of October 3, that date is still upcoming; the available local report describes a planned closure, not confirmation that the restaurant has already shut.
Why is the restaurant leaving?
KAUZ said it was told the lease was ending and relocating the restaurant would cost too much. That is the station’s account of the explanation it received, not a published statement from Red Robin corporate management.
Is Red Robin moving to another Wichita Falls location?
A local employee, Xander Gueli, told the Wichita Falls Times Record News that there were no plans to open at another location. That report does not amount to confirmation from Red Robin corporate management.

How does the reported lease end date compare with the closing date?
The Times Record News reported that lease records provided to the newspaper by Forward Wichita Falls showed a 10-year lease expiring October 31, 2026. It also reported that the restaurant opened October 17, 2016. Those details come from the newspaper’s account of the records and its reporting; the announced October 4 closing date and the reported October 31 lease expiration are different dates, and the accounts do not explain the gap.
Is the closure part of Red Robin’s wider restaurant changes?
Red Robin’s June 15, 2026 investor release announced two refranchising agreements covering 86 company-owned restaurants for an aggregate announced amount of $72.5 million. The company said the deals were intended to support its First Choice Plan and remained subject to customary due diligence, adjustments and closing conditions. The release does not connect those agreements to the Wichita Falls restaurant’s reported lease-related departure.
