Net income attributable to parent shareholders was NT$21,068 million, and basic earnings per share were NT$4.80 (US$0.304 per ADS). The results, released July 30, show faster growth in assembly and testing than in the company’s EMS business; ASE’s AI packaging announcements point to planned capacity, not a separately quantified contribution to this quarter.
ASE’s second-quarter results at a glance
In its July 30, 2026 results release, ASE reported NT$191,064 million in consolidated revenue for the quarter ended June 30. Revenue rose 26.7% compared with the same quarter a year earlier and 10.0% sequentially. Parent-attributable net income reached NT$21,068 million, while basic EPS was NT$4.80, or US$0.304 per ADS.
The sequential comparison also shows an increase from first-quarter revenue of NT$173,662 million, net income attributable to parent shareholders of NT$14,148 million and basic EPS of NT$3.24, as reported in ASE’s April 29, 2026 first-quarter release. Revenue and earnings both advanced quarter over quarter, though the release does not by itself establish how much of the change came from AI-related demand.
Packaging and testing outgrew EMS
ASE reports assembly, testing and materials (ATM) separately from electronic manufacturing services (EMS). The company’s revenue mix for 2Q26 was approximately 52% packaging, 13% testing, 34% EMS and 1% other operations. Packaging was the largest category, but the reported segment growth rates show that both businesses expanded.

| Business measure | 2Q26 result | Year-over-year change | Sequential change |
|---|---|---|---|
| ATM revenue | NT$126,148 million | +36.3% | +12.2% |
| EMS revenue | NT$65,789 million | +11.9% | +6.3% |
ATM—ASE’s assembly and testing operations—grew faster than consolidated revenue and EMS. Its gross margin was 27.3%, compared with 26.0% in 1Q26. EMS revenue also increased, but its 11.9% year-over-year growth was substantially slower than ATM’s 36.3%. The company’s release does not provide a quantified AI-specific revenue figure in the cited results.
What ASE’s AI packaging announcements establish
ASE’s official press-room index lists several initiatives tied to advanced packaging and AI chip demand: an announced NT$17.8 billion high-tech facility in Kaohsiung, a planned advanced AI packaging hub with WUS, and an automated 310mm panel-level packaging announcement. They indicate investment and strategic emphasis on packaging capacity.

Those announcements should not be treated as evidence that the new capacity generated 2Q26 revenue or profit. The earnings release does not quantify the quarter’s AI-related sales or identify a contribution from the announced facility, hub or panel-level packaging plans. The defensible conclusion is that AI packaging is part of ASE’s capacity strategy, while the reported results show growth across its existing businesses without isolating AI’s share.

How to read the figures
- Unaudited results: ASE says the financial information is unaudited, internally generated and prepared under Taiwan-IFRS. It cautions that it may not be indicative of results in a future period.
- Historical context: For scale, ASE’s 2025 full-year results reported revenue of NT$645,388 million and parent-attributable net income of NT$40,658 million. Annual and quarterly figures cover different periods and should not be directly equated.
- What remains uncertain: Quarterly figures describe one period; they do not establish that the pace of growth will persist. Semiconductor demand can vary, and planned capacity depends on execution as well as demand.
