The result needs a key distinction: McCormick’s GAAP diluted EPS was $0.36, not $0.86.

|---|---|---|
| Adjusted diluted EPS | $0.86 | $0.10 above Investing.com’s cited $0.76 analyst consensus |
| Revenue | $2.02 billion | Above Investing.com’s cited $1.98 billion analyst consensus |
| GAAP diluted EPS | $0.36 | $0.48 below the $0.84 reported for Q3 2025 |
| Adjusted diluted EPS, year over year | $0.86 | Up from $0.85 in Q3 2025 |
The consensus figures are from Investing.com’s October 1 earnings report; McCormick’s official release confirms adjusted diluted EPS of $0.86 and provides the GAAP and prior-year comparisons. The cited materials do not specify the consensus provider’s analyst panel or calculation method.
Why the $0.10 beat is not the same as higher GAAP earnings
The headline beat compares adjusted EPS with analysts’ estimate. It does not mean reported GAAP earnings rose year over year: GAAP diluted EPS fell from $0.84 to $0.36, while adjusted diluted EPS edged up from $0.85 to $0.86.

McCormick said special charges reduced Q3 diluted EPS by $0.50. The charges included transaction and integration costs as well as a noncash impairment charge. Adjusted EPS excludes specified items, so it is a different measure from GAAP diluted EPS; the two figures should not be treated as interchangeable. McCormick’s official Q3 release provides the company’s explanation of the adjustments.
Reported sales growth versus organic growth
McCormick reported net-sales growth of 17.4% in the quarter, but organic sales growth was 1.9%. The company said the acquisition of McCormick de Mexico contributed to reported growth. These figures describe different bases: reported growth reflects the company’s reported sales, while organic growth excludes acquisition-related effects and other specified factors. The 17.4% reported figure should therefore not be read as organic growth.
