Super Mario Bros. Wonder is not getting an official PC release. An unofficial project has demonstrated the game running on Windows, and its author says it also runs on Mac and boots on Android. But the project’s repository remains private, with no public release date. For now, Nintendo’s official version is the Switch game, which Nintendo says is supported on Switch 2.
What is the Super Mario Bros. Wonder PC port?
It is an unofficial development project, not a Nintendo PC release. Project author BelmanteGu says the build shown on Mac also runs on Windows and boots on Android. The Windows demonstration reportedly reaches the title screen, menus, character selection, opening cutscene, world map and course 1-1. TechEBlog separately reported on October 2, 2026, that a Windows demonstration had been shown, including on an RTX 3050 laptop. TechEBlog’s report corroborates the demonstration; technical descriptions and performance figures below come from the project author’s post.
“Native” describes the project’s reported approach to running the software on other platforms; it does not mean Nintendo has ported, endorsed or released the game for PC.
How the unofficial port reportedly works
BelmanteGu describes a static recompilation pipeline. The Switch game’s ARM64 code is recompiled ahead of time into portable C++, and the game’s NVN graphics driver is recompiled as well. A custom NVN-to-Vulkan layer then replays recorded graphics work as Vulkan draws. The author says the project uses neither a just-in-time compiler nor an interpreter.

Those details are the project author’s account, not an independent technical audit. The author also reports translating 12,717 shader programs. In one opening-scene issue, the author says 312 MB of textures were staged at once, overflowing a 256 MB upload ring; buffer handling was subsequently changed. A warm-start pipeline cache reportedly reduced pipeline creation time across a course from 1.2 seconds to 0.36 seconds. These are implementation figures from the author, not general measurements of the game or a guarantee of performance on other devices.
What devices have been shown, and how fast do they run?
The project author reports the following results from demonstrations. They are not independent benchmarks, recommended specifications or minimum requirements.

| Demonstrated device | Reported result | What the result establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Apple M1 Mac | Approximately 58 fps median on course 1-1 | A reported result for that demo and course only. |
| Windows laptop with RTX 3050 | Approximately 58 fps median on course 1-1 | The RTX 3050 is the demonstrated laptop GPU, not a published requirement. |
| Samsung Galaxy S23 | Reported to boot and render at 40–60 fps | The author describes the Android build as early; this does not establish complete or reliably playable Android support. |
The author’s stated next steps include holding 60 fps in a Windows window, testing Intel UHD 770 integrated graphics, and adding correct textures and playable-course support on Android. The available figures do not support a like-for-like comparison between platforms or a prediction for other hardware.
Can you download and play the port now?
No public download is presented by the project author. The repository is still private, and no release date is given. BelmanteGu says the plan is to open the recompiler, NVN-to-Vulkan layer and NVN documentation to the community later, but that is an intention rather than a scheduled release.

The author says the project runs only with a user’s own legally dumped game and that no game data is shared. That description is not a legal determination, and it does not establish that Nintendo has approved the project. No statement from Nintendo, court or regulator about this specific project is established by the cited sources.

What to expect next
The clearest near-term signal is whether the author makes the promised project components public. Until then, a Windows demonstration is evidence of development progress, not evidence that players can obtain a working port. If you want to play now, the official option documented by Nintendo is the Switch game, supported on Switch 2.
