Because October 1 has passed, the effective date is now in the past. However, the June 30 quarterly filing predates the transition, and the retrieved October 1 current-report index entry does not reveal the report’s subject or text. The company’s indexed team page still listed Marcotte as both CEO and president, so it should not be treated as confirmation of the post-transition roster. The announcement supports the scheduled appointment; the records available here do not separately verify that it was completed.

Who is Michael McQuigg?
Before the announced promotion, McQuigg had served as Gladstone Capital’s executive vice president and senior managing director since 2021. He joined the Gladstone Companies in April 2015. The filing says his work focused on originating and managing middle-market debt and equity investments for private-equity sponsors and owner-operators. It also lists prior roles at Deerpath Capital and H.I.G. Capital and degrees from Columbia Business School and Johns Hopkins University.
The dates mean McQuigg had been with the Gladstone Companies for roughly eleven years by the scheduled October 2026 effective date. That tenure and his investment work describe his background; they do not establish the results or impact of the leadership change.

What other leadership changes were announced?
The March 23 announcement also named John Sateri chief investment officer, effective March 20, 2026, and Andrew Ahlberg executive vice president, effective immediately. The company framed the succession moves as a strategic plan and a continuation of leadership. That is the company’s stated rationale, not an independently measured outcome.
