Is the Bettergoods pasta sold at Walmart recalled?
Yes, but only two lots of one frozen pasta product. In a September 22, 2026 notice, the FDA said Gias Foods recalled Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine distributed nationwide at Walmart. The FDA reported no illnesses at the time of that notice. Read the FDA’s Bettergoods pasta recall notice and compare every package detail below.

If the UPC, lot code and expiration date match, follow the FDA notice’s instructions to discard the food or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. A different lot or another pasta product is not identified by this recall notice.
Which pepper products are in a separate recall?
The FDA’s recall index includes Mezzetta Greek peppers, also identified as Golden Greek Peperoncini, Medium Heat, for possible foreign material. The index entry is dated September 26, 2026. The index alone does not provide enough package and lot details to determine whether a particular jar is affected. Check the FDA recall index and open the product-specific notice before using or disposing of a jar.

Are jalapeños part of a recall, and is the outbreak over?
The FDA’s October 2, 2026 update says the CDC declared the jalapeño-linked Salmonella outbreak over. FDA and CDC reported 488 illnesses in 34 states, 65 hospitalizations and zero deaths. The identified distribution chain involved jalapeños from Sinaloa, Mexico, distributed by Coast Citrus Distributors. The FDA said it could not determine the route or source of contamination. Separate FDA recall notices cover finished foods that used recalled jalapeños as ingredients or repackaged them. These include dips, salsa, guacamole and other products; which items were affected and where they were sold varied by notice. Use the FDA’s jalapeño-related recall grouping to find each product-specific notice and check its package, lot or date details. The outbreak’s end does not mean every recalled item has been removed from homes or stores.

Is this the same as the prepared-pasta Listeria investigation?
No. CDC describes a separate investigation into Listeria illnesses associated with prepared pasta meals. The meals were purchased from refrigerated sections at Walmart and Kroger; that investigation is not the September 2026 recall of frozen Bettergoods Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine. What should you do if you find a recalled food?
- Match the brand and exact product name, package size, UPC, lot code and expiration or best-by date to the product-specific official notice.
- If the item matches, do not eat it. FDA advises consumers to discard recalled food or return it to the place of purchase for a refund; follow any additional instructions in that recall notice.
- If you think you developed Salmonella symptoms after eating food containing jalapeños, contact a healthcare provider immediately, as FDA advises.
- Check the Walmart Product Recalls page and the relevant FDA notice for current details. Walmart says its recall list is not all-inclusive, so the retailer page should not replace the product-specific agency notice.
