To build a filtered blog index with Divi AI Agents, use Divi 5’s Visual Builder to lay out the page with Flexbox, create a repeating post card with Loop Builder, and add Loop Filter Modules that target that loop. Work in small stages: Ask mode for planning, Build mode for edits, and a canvas review after each pass.
What you need before you start
Elegant Themes says the Agent requires Divi 5 and an active Divi AI subscription; Divi Pro includes Divi AI. Confirm the current requirements and terms in the Divi AI Agent getting-started guide, because product packaging and usage terms can change.
The Agent works inside the Divi 5 Visual Builder and creates editable Divi content rather than only returning a static mockup. It can work with native Sections, Rows, Columns, and Modules, using a written brief, screenshot or mockup, public website URL, or moodboard as a starting reference. A URL reference must be directly reachable and not behind a login, according to the reference images and URLs guide.
Plan the loop as four connected parts
A blog loop is more than a grid. The page layout, repeated card, post query, dynamic fields, and filter targets must work together.

- Loop: a Loop Builder query that selects the posts, plus the repeating card layout.
- Dynamic content: fields in the card, such as the post title or image, populated from each post.
- Filters: search, category, and author controls connected to the intended loop, with Apply and Reset controls where needed.

Build the page in focused passes
1. Inspect and plan in Ask mode
Open the page in the Divi 5 Visual Builder and use Ask mode to discuss the design, ask what an existing setting does, or plan the layout. Ask mode can inspect the page and answer questions without changing the layout; the mode guide distinguishes it from Build mode, which makes edits.

Give the Agent a concrete reference and describe the hierarchy you want: for example, a hero above a two-part content area, with filters on one side and results on the other. Specify meaningful constraints such as the column split, gaps, and color variables so you can check the result against your intent.
2. Create the structure and card in Build mode
Switch to Build mode for implementation. Start with a bounded request to create the page skeleton and card layout. The tutorial uses Flexbox for this example; choose layout tools according to the structure you need rather than assuming Flexbox is always the right choice. Review the canvas before asking for another change.

3. Add the Loop Builder query and dynamic fields
Ask for the Loop Builder setup and the card’s dynamic content as a separate pass. The Agent’s documented capabilities include configuring a loop content source, result order, and filters, as well as creating dynamic content tokens; see the Divi AI Agent capabilities guide. Check the query and each field mapping in your own site rather than assuming the generated loop matches your post types or content model.
4. Add filters and connect them to the loop
Request the search, category, and author filter modules after the loop is in place, then add the Apply and Reset controls. Verify that each filter targets the intended loop. A correctly styled filter that targets the wrong loop will not give readers the results they expect.

5. Review, refine, and undo deliberately
Inspect the canvas after each build request. If one area is wrong, ask for a targeted refinement instead of layering a broad new prompt over an unsatisfactory result. Use Visual Builder Undo when a change takes the page in the wrong direction. For repeated instructions, use Rules for persistent constraints or Commands for recurring tasks; keep related loop work in one conversation and start a new chat for an unrelated task.

- Loop query: confirm its content source and result order match the posts you want to display.
- Dynamic fields: confirm the card pulls the intended values from your content.
- Filter target: confirm each filter is connected to the correct loop.
The imported design is not proof that its query or filter targeting fits every site’s content setup.
Know when the Agent may pause for approval
Build mode can add, edit, move, clone, or delete elements and adjust settings. Some actions pause for approval. The Help Center also describes broader WordPress site-management actions as potentially destructive and requiring approval; review the prompt before confirming a consequential change. Understand the usage allowance as a dated vendor claim
The October 1, 2026 tutorial says Divi AI membership includes $5 in complimentary agent spend each month and that usage costs depend on the model and request. Treat that amount as a dated Elegant Themes statement, not an independently verified or permanent allowance; check current terms before purchasing or relying on it. The tutorial also says that the first time you use the Agent on a site, you need to sign in with your Elegant Themes account so the site can access and use your Divi AI credit balance. Its usage and wallet guide discusses monthly AI Wallet funding but does not state a numeric allowance.
