Wakefit’s in-house model gives it control over mattress design and manufacturing, while sales through its own channels can reduce reliance on some intermediaries. Those choices offer plausible ways to manage costs—but the available evidence does not establish how much, if anything, they lower a mattress’s price compared with an equivalent product.
What Wakefit means by “in-house”
Wakefit’s company filings describe an integrated operation that includes product research and development, prototyping, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics. Its prospectus says it controls upstream processes from design through manufacturing in its mattress and furniture segments. These are company disclosures, not independent factory audits; they support the claim that Wakefit manages key stages of product development and production.
That does not mean Wakefit makes every mattress component or raw material itself. A brand-created Hindustan Times explainer published on October 2, 2026, says the company’s control lets it make decisions about materials, construction and production. Because the article was created by the brand and disclaims editorial responsibility for its accuracy or completeness, treat that explanation as Wakefit’s account rather than independent verification.
How in-house production could help manage costs
More control over design and production choices
When product design and manufacturing sit within the same business, decisions about construction and production can be made closer to the factory. Wakefit’s paid explainer presents that control as a way to manage materials and costs. It is a plausible mechanism, but the available evidence does not quantify any savings attributable to manufacturing in-house or show that those savings are passed on as a particular price reduction.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Fewer intermediary steps on some sales
Selling through a company’s own website or stores can avoid some distributor and retailer layers. Wakefit’s channels are not exclusively direct, however: its investor presentation lists its website, company-operated stores, marketplaces and multi-branded outlets as points of sale. Its Red Herring Prospectus reports that about 56.97% of sales by value in Fiscal 2025 came through owned channels. That figure covers all sales, not mattresses alone, and is a channel mix—not a measure of cost savings.
What the evidence does—and does not—show about price
Wakefit’s operating model provides a reasonable explanation for how it might manage costs: it controls important stages of product development and manufacturing, and a substantial share of its sales comes through owned channels. But the reviewed sources do not provide an independent, current, like-for-like comparison showing that a Wakefit mattress costs a specific amount less because it is made in-house.

A 2019 Financial Express interview quoted co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingegowda saying Wakefit products were “40-50% cheaper than a similar product from any of the large brands.” That was a historical company-representative claim; the interview does not supply a comparison method, so it should not be treated as a current or independently verified discount. The same interview described cutting distributor, dealer and retailer layers and reengineering products and costs, but its remarks are historical commentary, not proof of present-day savings.
Wakefit’s investor presentation reported revenue from operations of ₹11,453 million, operating EBITDA of ₹933.1 million (an 8.1% margin) and profit after tax of ₹674.3 million (a 5.9% margin) for 9M FY26. These company-reported figures describe business performance; they do not establish that in-house manufacturing caused lower consumer prices.

How to compare a Wakefit mattress with another option
Rather than infer equivalent quality from a lower price or the phrase “made in-house,” compare the specific mattresses you are considering. Check:
- Construction and materials: Compare the stated layers and material types, not just the brand or broad category.
- Size: Match dimensions before comparing prices.
- Current price: Compare the same size and a similar construction at the time you plan to buy.
- Warranty terms: Read the terms for that model and confirm which parts and defects are covered.
What Wakefit’s current warranty terms cover
Wakefit’s warranty page says the mattress section applies to mattresses other than roll-up mattresses. Roll-up mattresses have no warranty under the stated terms, although a product page may specify a replacement option. For covered mattresses, the stated warranty covers foam only; it excludes the outer cover, zipper and runner. Listed covered issues include undulations, splits in the foam and shrinkage, sagging or deformity exceeding one inch. Comfort issues and sagging or deformity below one inch are excluded. The page also says roll-packed mattresses may take up to 72 hours to regain their original size and gives a dimensional tolerance.
