Toys“R”Us is planned to open a year-round store at Oviedo Mall in Oviedo, part of the Orlando area. Local reports published through October 1, 2026, placed the opening in fall, possibly early October, but did not give a confirmed date, hours or opening-event details. Check the mall or the Toys“R”Us store locator for an update before making a trip.
Where is the new Toys“R”Us store?
The announced location is Oviedo Mall, in Oviedo, Florida. Calling it a return to Orlando refers to the wider region; it does not mean every Toys“R”Us format had disappeared locally. The brand has also operated through other retail formats, and its national announcement mentions airport, Macy’s and Navy Exchange shop-in-shops.
When will it open, and what are the hours?
Local reports said the store was expected in fall 2026, with early October mentioned as a likely window. The latest local update reviewed, published October 1, did not confirm an opening day. It also did not provide store hours or details of an opening celebration. These details can change quickly, so check for an official update before visiting.
Is the Oviedo store year-round?
Yes. The mall announcement described the planned Oviedo location as a year-round store. Orlando Business Journal reported that it would have a short-term lease. Those details refer to different things: a year-round operating plan is not a promise of a permanent lease or a long-term commitment to the location.

What might shoppers find inside?
Toys“R”Us’ September 17, 2026, national expansion announcement said new standalone stores would carry toys, collectibles and gifts, naming LEGO, Barbie, Hot Wheels and Pokémon among the brands. That is a description of the national rollout, not a confirmed inventory list for Oviedo. The company has not published an Oviedo-specific stock list in the reports reviewed. Shoppers interested in LEGO building sets should check local availability rather than assume a particular set will be on the shelves.
How does the opening fit the national expansion?
Toys“R”Us announced plans on September 17, 2026, to open 120 new standalone stores across the United States in partnership with Go! Retail Group. The company said the planned total of standalone U.S. stores would reach 160 by the 2026 holiday season. These are company-announced rollout plans, not independently verified counts of stores already open; the announcement does not provide Oviedo-specific sales, attendance or store-size figures.

What the mall says about the store
Oviedo Mall Marketing & Events Director Josh Gunderson described the opening as a way to bring back the experience of browsing a toy store in person. “Online shopping is convenient, but opening a cardboard box on your porch isn’t quite the same as being a kid standing in a toy store surrounded by possibilities,” he told ClickOrlando. The quote reflects the mall’s enthusiasm for the arrival; it does not establish the store’s opening date or operating details.
