As of October 3, 2026, Sony has confirmed two PS5 games with Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR): Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei. Install each game’s QSSR patch, then look for QSSR in that game’s graphics options. Sony has not published an exact menu path.
PS5 games with confirmed QSSR support
Sony’s October 1, 2026 announcement identifies these as the first games adding QSSR. This is the confirmed list as of October 3, 2026, not a promise that no other games have been added since.

Sony’s QSSR announcement says the feature will be offered broadly to PlayStation developers, but gives no schedule or names of additional games.
How to turn on QSSR
- Update the game. QSSR is described as an option added by a game patch, so install the latest available patch for Marvel’s Wolverine or Ghost of Yōtei.
- Open the game’s graphics options and look for QSSR. Sony does not document a precise in-game menu path; the location may depend on the game.
- Select QSSR if it appears. Sony describes it as an additional graphics option, not a universal setting that applies to every PS5 game.
There is no QSSR switch documented in PS5 system settings. Updating console system software is a separate task: when an update is available, Sony’s documented route is Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings > Update System Software. What QSSR is—and how it differs from PSSR
QSSR stands for Quick Spectral Super Resolution. Sony describes it as a new performance tier of AI upscaling for PS5, built around a streamlined neural-network architecture and an implementation tuned for the console. Sony says it is intended to improve image detail and stability. Those are Sony’s descriptions; its announcement provides no numerical benchmark or independent measurement.
Sony positions QSSR as a quicker evolution of its upscaling technology, while describing PSSR as the higher-end option on PS5 Pro. The names are similar, but PSSR support does not establish QSSR support: this list includes only games Sony identified for QSSR. What Sony says about the first two games
In Sony’s announcement, Mike Fitzgerald, Head of Technology at Insomniac Games, said QSSR adds “more pixel-level clarity and stability” to environments in Marvel’s Wolverine. Jasmin Patry, Lead Rendering Engineer at Sucker Punch Productions, said it resolves fine detail in characters and environments in Ghost of Yōtei with temporal stability. These are statements from the developers of the respective games, not independent comparative tests; Sony gives no measured image-quality or performance figures.

Why QSSR may not appear
- The game patch is not installed: check for and install an update for the game, then revisit its graphics options.
- You are checking system settings: Sony describes QSSR as a game-level graphics option, not a console-wide toggle.
- The option still is not listed: Sony’s announcement does not specify the menu location or further troubleshooting steps. Check the game’s own update information for details specific to that title.
- You are looking at a PSSR-only game: PSSR is distinct from QSSR. A PS5 Pro PSSR feature is not evidence that a game supports QSSR on PS5.
