One Marie Claire editor said her face looked less puffy after using Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Super Anti-Aging Face Mask Rich with its Gua Sha tool—but that is a single person’s experience, not proof the mask treats puffiness. The product is a weekly cream-to-oil mask, and the brand’s cited test concerns skin elasticity, not morning swelling. If you are considering it specifically to depuff, keep that distinction in mind.
What the editor noticed—and what it does not prove
In an October 1, 2026 review, a Marie Claire editor described looking less puffy after a roughly 20-minute application and Gua Sha massage. That is a first-person observation about the combined routine. It cannot establish whether the visible change came from the mask, the massage, timing, or other factors, and it does not show that other users will see the same result. Read the Marie Claire review.
The brand’s headline quantified result is different: Dr. Barbara Sturm says an instrumental test on 20 volunteers found 84% improved elasticity after five uses. The official pages reviewed do not give the test date, full protocol, control group, or independent publication, so this is a brand-reported result that readers cannot independently assess from those pages. Elasticity is not the same outcome as reduced morning puffiness. The brand’s collection page and discovery duo page carry the claim.
The brand also describes hydration, plumping, smoother-looking lines, radiance and pore-appearance benefits. Its collection page mentions consumer studies involving 21 volunteers after five applications and 21 volunteers after one application, but the reviewed text does not provide enough detail to evaluate those methods. These are cosmetic claims, not evidence of a medical effect.

What the mask is and how to use it
Dr. Barbara Sturm describes Super Anti-Aging Face Mask Rich as an intensive cream-to-oil treatment for weekly use. The brand’s directions are to apply it after cleansing, leave it on for 15–20 minutes until it melts into an oil, then use the included Gua Sha with gentle pressure and strokes following lymphatic flow toward the ears or collarbone. Pat in any excess and clean the tool afterward. The brand says the Gua Sha is hypoallergenic stainless steel and included with the 50 ml size. See the official product page and directions.
The listed formula includes squalane, jojoba and Japanese camellia seed oils, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, shea butter, vitamin E forms, glycosphingolipids, barley extract, purslane and cherimoya extracts, among other ingredients. The brand highlights these for moisturizing and other skin benefits; the ingredient list alone does not prove that each one produces a particular clinical result.

Can Gua Sha help with a puffy face in the morning?
Mild puffiness on waking that clears within a few hours can reflect normal overnight fluid retention. Facial swelling has many possible causes, so a cosmetic routine is not a way to diagnose it. Cleveland Clinic says lymphatic drainage massage may reduce puffiness, but results may not be immediate and it may not offer meaningful results for people without lymphedema. Seek medical evaluation for sudden swelling, severe pain, signs of infection, swelling that persists or worsens, or any swelling accompanied by trouble breathing or swallowing. Those symptoms are not a skincare concern to manage with a mask or massage.

What it costs—and what to weigh before buying
At access, the official UK product page displayed £170, while Marie Claire’s US review displayed $225. These are prices shown on different market pages, not a direct currency comparison or a guarantee of today’s price; check the product page for your region before purchasing. The 50 ml size includes the Gua Sha according to the brand, so treat the tool as part of that product rather than assuming it must be bought separately.
If your main goal is morning depuffing, the evidence in these sources is much narrower than the product name and testimonial may suggest: one editor reported a visible change, while the brand’s quantified instrumental claim is about elasticity. Consider whether a rich weekly mask and massage fit your routine, and whether that anecdotal puffiness report is enough to justify the price for you.
