Home Assistant 2026.10 is reported to add Matter settings for leak-sensor alarms, a smart-lock keypad preference, and additional electrical readings—but the changes are conditional, not universal. A Matter device must expose the relevant capability for its controls to appear. The detailed account available on October 3, 2026 describes beta behavior, so check the final release notes and your exact device after updating.
What Home Assistant 2026.10 reportedly adds
A beta report published by Matter Alpha on October 1, 2026 describes several new Matter controls and readings. The report is secondary coverage, not official release documentation; it says the features could change or be removed before stable release. Home Assistant’s official 2026.6 release notes provide background on Matter in Home Assistant, but do not confirm these 2026.10 changes.
Separate alarm settings for Matter leak sensors
Supported leak sensors reportedly gain separate settings for audible and visual alarms. These configure the device’s alarm behavior; they are not controls for manually sounding an alarm. The report names IKEA KLIPPBOK and Shelly Flood as tested examples, not as a complete compatibility list.
A keypad-locking preference for compatible smart locks
Compatible Matter locks reportedly gain a setting that determines whether one touch of the keypad can lock the door. The beta account does not name a tested lock model or provide a full list of supported locks.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Frequency and power factor readings
Devices that expose the relevant electrical measurements through Matter can reportedly provide frequency and power factor in Home Assistant. The report does not name a specific device, and these readings should not be assumed to appear for every Matter plug, meter, or appliance.
WAGO blind timing settings
The beta report also describes settings for upward travel, downward travel, and slat-rotation timing on WAGO Home Blind Control 2757-1105 Wi-Fi and 2757-1106 Thread devices.

Will the new controls appear for your device?
Not necessarily. Matter compatibility by itself does not guarantee that a device exposes each setting or measurement to Home Assistant. The report does not establish universal support, a model-by-model compatibility list, or independent reliability results.
- For a leak sensor: Check whether your exact model exposes separate audible- and visual-alarm settings in the Home Assistant version you run. IKEA KLIPPBOK and Shelly Flood are reported tested examples, not a promise that every hardware revision or setup behaves identically.
- For a smart lock: Verify Matter support for the exact model and look for the one-touch keypad-locking preference. No tested lock model is identified in the report.
- For electrical monitoring: Check whether the device reports frequency and power factor through Matter; the controls depend on those measurements being exposed.
- For a WAGO blind controller: Confirm the exact controller model and connection type before expecting the reported travel and slat-rotation settings.
If you are considering a Matter leak sensor, treat the named models as examples to investigate rather than a complete buying recommendation. Verify the exact model and its behavior with the final Home Assistant release; the report provides no current prices, retail availability, or broader compatibility guarantee.
