It adds customization, items, and interaction options while also changing stealth rules, party size, and combat balance. The publisher’s launch notes also list unresolved bugs, including a save-loading crash in a specific Nagasaki Harbour scenario.
What Update 1 adds
THQ Nordic describes version 0.6.0 as a response to initial player feedback. The game remains in Early Access; its Steam listing describes it as a party-based RPG set in Sengoku-era Japan, with stealth, diplomacy, or violence as ways to approach situations (Steam store listing).
Character options, equipment, and presentation
- Two new European heads for each gender and two new European hairstyles usable by either gender.
- New heads for older Japanese NPCs, a Japanese NPC hairstyle, and a “Ronin” outfit for Kage and ronin-type enemies.
- Five unique Act 1 items, six armor or helmet additions to loot tables, and ten weapon variations.
- Music variations, new status effects for certain mini-bosses, and additional animation poses for dialogue expressions.
Exploration and interaction
Characters can now carry barrels, including gunpowder barrels that can be placed near patrolling enemies. A contextual interaction drop-down joins the existing Shift and Ctrl shortcuts; both modifier keys can now be rebound. A persistent walk/run toggle is also included.
The update adds scavenging and pickpocketing opportunities in particular areas, and lets players give Captain van Renesse’s letters to Johan in Act 1.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How stealth and combat changed
Update 1 adjusts stealth to make detection and combat more consequential. Stealth takedowns use walk or sneak speed rather than causing the character to run. If an enemy witnesses an ally being killed, they immediately enter combat. Sneak attacks can no longer be used repeatedly to stun-lock enemies.
The Surprise Attack bonus no longer applies against enemies who are already aware, and its effect is reduced for ranged stealth attacks. These changes alter how players can exploit surprise; the notes do not quantify the resulting difficulty or player outcomes.

Party size and balance
Party size rises to six in a list of named levels, with enemy numbers increased accordingly. The publisher also lists broad and class-specific stat changes, ranged weapon nerfs, adjustments to some weapon types, increased enemy health, changes to Piet’s Passata Soto ability, and revisions to the Effective and Ineffective status effects. Loot tables now award more mon.
The announcement does not give numeric balance values for those changes, so it is not possible to compare exact stat adjustments from the published notes.

Known issues listed at version 0.6.0’s release
THQ Nordic said it did not delay Update 1 to address several outstanding issues and that they would be handled in future updates. The list in the September 30, 2026 announcement includes:
- Item-ability tooltips that cannot be accessed in the trading window, occasional ability hotbar ordering problems, and some UI sounds that ignore master volume.
- A door that can be clipped through, and dialogue conditions that can display incompletely.
- A crash that can occur after loading a save in Nagasaki Harbour after trading.
- Scroll bar problems and gamepad input trouble after alt-tabbing during a loading screen.
- Co-op reconnection and client-visibility problems.
These are issues the publisher listed when version 0.6.0 launched. The announcement does not establish whether later hotfixes have resolved any of them.

The Update 1 announcement also previews planned work, not features delivered in version 0.6.0: character-creation changes, facial hair for two characters, children, more items, improved theft logic, better rain effects, and improved lighting in overcast weather. These should be treated as future plans stated in that announcement, not as part of the update’s shipped feature set.
