A September 2026 community release post identifies version 1.1.5 and reports new Pokémon, stages, shiny Pokémon and other changes. It does not establish the exact mechanics behind the boss fights or the expanded Pokédex mentioned in the headline.
What is Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire Plus?
It is a fan modification of Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, the Game Boy Advance pinball game. The Plus name refers to the modified game, not a separate retail release or a new Nintendo product. Bulbapedia identifies the original as a GBA title: Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire.
The feature details available for Plus come from a community post by CallumSmilee in r/PokemonROMhacks, titled “Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire Plus v1.1.5 Is Now On Hackdex!” The post says the hack had already been available for about a month before its Hackdex listing. That distinction matters: the directory listing was not necessarily the hack’s initial release. The post is community reporting, not an independently verified project changelog: the version 1.1.5 community post.
What features does version 1.1.5 report?
CallumSmilee’s September 2026 post lists the following additions. They are claims in that release discussion; an accessible official changelog was not available to confirm them independently.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- 45 new Pokémon: the post gives this as the added Pokémon count.
- Two bonus stages and a new mode.
- Shiny Pokémon as a new feature.
- More balls, without specifying the exact number or mechanics in the accessible feature list.
- A PokéNav progress tracker, described in the post as a way to track progress.
- Mid-game board switching.
- e-Reader Pokémon available through regular play, according to the post.
What is known about shiny hunting, boss fights and the expanded Pokédex?
Shiny Pokémon
The release post explicitly lists shiny Pokémon, supporting the headline’s shiny-hunting angle. It does not explain encounter odds, how players trigger encounters, or whether the feature changes the original game’s capture flow. Those details should not be assumed from the feature name alone.
Boss fights
Boss fights appear in the headline framing, but the accessible release-post feature list does not describe their number, opponents, rules or rewards. Treat the existence and design details as unconfirmed beyond that framing.

Expanded Pokédex
The release post’s count of 45 new Pokémon supports the broad idea of an expanded roster. It does not identify the full added list or establish exactly how the expanded Pokédex is organized. The post separately describes a PokéNav progress tracker; it does not provide enough detail to equate that tracker with a particular Pokédex screen or completion system.
What hardware or setup do you need?
The original Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire is a GBA game, so compatible Game Boy Advance hardware is one way to play the base game. That does not mean a retail console or cartridge includes the Plus modification. The available release discussion does not establish the patch format, required base-ROM version, supported emulators, or exact compatibility list, so consult the project’s own documentation before attempting installation or choosing a setup.

For context, the original game supports Pokédex and high-score sharing using a Game Boy Advance Game Link cable, as noted by Bulbapedia. That is a feature of the base game, not evidence about new Plus mechanics.

Version 1.1.5 is presented in the community post as a substantial fan update, with new Pokémon and several additions to modes and play. The post is enough to outline its advertised direction, but not to verify detailed mechanics or installation requirements. Players interested in the mod should confirm current release notes and setup instructions from the project before downloading or patching anything.
