The DJI Power 1000 Mini is a compact 1,008 Wh portable power station built for charging laptops, drones, cameras and other gear on the move. At about 11.5 kg, it is easier to transport than many larger backup units, and its AC, USB-C, solar, vehicle and DJI SDC charging options make it flexible for trips and mobile work. The main trade-off is its 800 W continuous AC output: it is not the right choice for sustained high-draw appliances such as kettles or heaters.
What is the DJI Power 1000 Mini?
DJI identifies the unit as model DYM1000M. It stores a typical 1,008 Wh of energy in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells. DJI positions it for camping, road trips and content creation, and describes it as its most portable 1 kWh power station to date in its April 20, 2026 launch announcement.
Its strongest fit is someone who needs portable power for electronics and moderate loads: drone operators, photographers, remote workers and travelers. Its capacity is substantial for that role, but the 800 W continuous AC limit matters more than the 1 kWh label if you plan to plug in household appliances.
How portable is it?
DJI lists dimensions of 314 × 212 × 216 mm and an approximate net weight of 11.5 kg. That is manageable for a 1 kWh station, though it is still a piece of equipment to lift and carry rather than a lightweight battery bank. TechRadar likewise described it as manageable for its capacity.

The front display reports charge level, estimated runtime and live input and output. TechRadar found it generally readable outdoors, but direct sunlight could wash it out. Actual runtime depends on the connected device’s draw, conversion losses and operating conditions; capacity alone cannot tell you how many hours a particular setup will run.
What can it power?
AC appliances and tools
The AC output is rated at 800 W continuous. DJI also lists maximum output up to 1,000 W and higher bypass figures for some regional configurations, but those are not continuous-output ratings. Bypass operation and maximum output are distinct from running a load continuously from the battery, so check the specifications for the model sold in your region before relying on those modes.
TechRadar found the station suitable for small appliances and mobile-workstation use, but flagged its output ceiling as the key limitation for high-draw appliances. A kettle or heater may exceed the continuous rating; check the appliance’s wattage rather than assuming that a 1,008 Wh capacity means it can run any device. The station is better suited to laptops, camera gear, drones and moderate loads than to sustained heavy appliances.

USB and DJI SDC devices
There is one USB-C port and one built-in retractable USB-C cable, each rated for up to 100 W. When both charge devices simultaneously, their combined output is 150 W: up to 100 W from the retractable cable and 50 W from the port. Two USB-A ports provide up to 12 W per channel.
The DJI SDC output is rated up to 300 W, and SDC input up to 400 W. DJI supports specific drone fast-charge cables and certain car or model-aircraft accessories through this connection. Digital Camera World describes the connector as XT90-like and reports using an inexpensive adapter with standard XT60-equipped FPV drone batteries, but that reviewer’s experience is not a substitute for DJI’s compatibility guidance. Check the exact accessory and battery requirements before connecting third-party equipment.
How long does the DJI Power 1000 Mini last?
The 1,008 Wh figure is DJI’s typical stored-energy rating, not a promise of a fixed runtime. To make a rough estimate, divide the usable energy in watt-hours by the device’s average power draw in watts; real runtime will be lower than a simple capacity calculation may suggest because conversion and operating losses vary. For example, a device drawing 100 W continuously would use 100 Wh per hour, but the station’s displayed estimate for the connected load is more useful than treating the rated capacity as fully available AC energy.

DJI says the battery retains over 80% capacity after 4,000 cycles. Its test footnote defines a cycle as a complete charge and discharge and specifies a 25 °C laboratory environment, Standard Mode recharge and 400 W discharge to external devices. That is a manufacturer test claim under stated conditions, not a guarantee of the same lifespan in every use pattern.
How can you recharge it?
DJI lists several recharging methods: AC input, USB-C input, compatible vehicle charging and solar charging through its built-in maximum power point tracking (MPPT) module. Its launch material claims a recharge to 80% in 58 minutes; treat that as a manufacturer figure rather than a guaranteed charging time in all conditions.

TechRadar found the tested DJI 200 W foldable panel heavier and stiffer than expected, with fiddly support legs and connectors. In that reviewer’s bright-sun comparison, the Jackery SolarSaga 200 W panel produced over 200 W while DJI’s panel remained below a consistent 150 W. Those are results from the reviewer’s test conditions, not a universal panel ranking across weather, orientation and samples. The reviewer could not fully evaluate DJI’s car-battery charging accessory because the test vehicle was a Tesla Model Y, which does not support traditional alternator-based charging in the same way as a combustion vehicle.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does the regional version matter?
Yes. DJI’s outlet count and AC electrical specifications vary by country or region. Its support specifications list two AC outputs for CN, EU, AU and UK models, and four for US and JP models. Voltage and output data also vary by market. Confirm the listing for the exact regional model you are considering instead of assuming that a photo or specification for another country applies.
The unit includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 5.0; supported radio bands vary by region. DJI says the Mini has an integrated wireless module and does not support the DJI Power Dongle.

Can it act as a UPS?
DJI says UPS mode is active when the station and connected device are receiving grid power and AC output is switched on. The company states that it can begin supplying connected devices within 0.01 seconds, based on a controlled laboratory test. That timing is not an independent measurement or a promise that every device will tolerate the switchover. Check the requirements of sensitive equipment before relying on the station as its backup supply.
Care, replacement and warranty
Storage and temperature
DJI lists operating, recharging and storage temperatures from −10 °C to 45 °C, while warning that low temperatures reduce power-supply capability and output power. For long-term storage, DJI recommends keeping charge between 50% and 70% (ideally around 60%), checking it every three to four months, and recharging if needed. It also recommends a recharge-and-discharge maintenance cycle roughly every six months and warns against storing the unit fully discharged.
Retractable cable and warranty
DJI’s support FAQ says the retractable USB-C cable module is replaceable. Removal involves using a tool to take off the cover and release the clips, so replacement is not tool-free. DJI lists a default five-year warranty but excludes certain accessories, including the retractable cable module; consult the after-sales terms for the market where you buy the station.
Quick Recap
Who should buy it?
- Consider it if you need a relatively portable 1 kWh station for laptops, cameras, drones, travel or moderate appliances, and can make use of its range of charging inputs.
- Look elsewhere if you need sustained AC output above 800 W, want to expand capacity with DJI’s Power Expansion Battery 2000, or need compatibility with one of DJI’s unsupported fast car or solar chargers.
- Compare carefully if your main goal is home backup or running heavier loads. TechRadar contrasts the Mini’s portability with the DJI Power 2000, which has roughly double the capacity and greater output but is larger and heavier.
