How the KPL finals format works
Masters and Elite groups
The 12 qualified teams are divided into Masters and Elite groups. Teams play cross-group single round robins in best-of-five series, with each group ranked separately.
- The top four Masters teams qualify directly for Knockouts.
- The Elite group winner also goes directly to Knockouts.
- Masters teams placed fifth and sixth, plus Elite teams placed second through fifth, enter Breakout.
- The lowest-ranked Elite team is eliminated.
Breakout Stage
Breakout is a six-team single-elimination stage from October 20 to 22. Three winners advance to join the five direct qualifiers, creating the eight-team Knockout field.

Knockout Stage and final
Knockouts use best-of-seven matches in a double-elimination bracket from October 27 to November 8 in Changsha. The remaining teams then play the Grand Final in Chengdu on November 14.

Mainland China viewing leads
The official Honor of Kings event page on Douyu identifies a 2026 KPL Annual Finals live event. Huya also lists a KPL event page. These are the clearest currently identified mainland-China destinations.

Watching from outside mainland China
Availability of an authorized English-language stream, and access in specific countries, has not been established. Do not assume that a Douyu or Huya feed includes English commentary or is available in every territory. International viewers should check the official Honor of Kings esports channels for region-specific links and announcements as each stage approaches.

Early predictions: what can be said responsibly
AG Super Play has the clearest defending-champion case
Chengdu AG Super Play enters as the defending champion. That history makes AG a logical team to monitor, but it does not guarantee a place in the 2026 final.

Seeding provides context, not a power ranking
Qualification used annual points from Spring, the Challenger Cup and Summer. The six highest point earners were assigned to Masters, while the next six went to Elite. This determines each team’s route through the tournament, but it is not a complete measure of current form.
Why opening-day results are not enough
The October 2 results were Guangzhou TTG 3–0 Shenzhen DYG, KSG 3–0 Jinan RW and Nantong Hero 3–1 Chengdu AG Super Play. Three series are too small a sample for a reliable tournament-wide favorite, and AG’s opening loss should not by itself be treated as an elimination-level signal.

A better way to update the forecast
- Track each team’s group position and recent series results after several rounds.
- Account for whether the team is in Masters or Elite and which route it faces through Breakout or direct qualification.
- Give greater weight to performances in the later best-of-seven Knockout matches.
- Label any champion pick made before those results as provisional rather than a probability-backed prediction.
The available information does not support a defensible numerical championship probability or a definitive 2026 champion pick yet. The most useful preview is to follow the standings, bracket path and sustained series form as the event develops.
