Gray Zone Warfare’s announced 0.5 “Rogue Ops” update adds Hideout building, crafting and smuggling activities—but the official teaser does not confirm drug production or trade. The studio has scheduled a Supporter Preview for October 19, 2026, and the full launch for October 22, 2026; both dates are future plans as of October 3.
What Rogue Ops adds to Gray Zone Warfare
MADFINGER Games describes Update 0.5 as a move from pre-alpha to alpha and says it brings a new gameplay loop built around constructing a Hideout and crafting. Players will also be able to act as rogue private military contractors (PMCs) and take part in new smuggling activities. The announcement previews new weapons, large locations and improvements requested by the community, but does not detail those additions.

The studio’s short description is that “Rogue Ops introduces an entirely new gameplay loop centered around crafting and building your Hideout.” Its separate role-play hook is the “opportunity to become a rogue PMC, taking part in completely new smuggling activities.” Both statements come from the MADFINGER Games Team’s October 1, 2026 announcement.
Can you become a drug baron?
That is not established by the teaser. Its smuggling announcement does not name drugs, narcotics or any other specific contraband, nor does it confirm production or dealing. “Drug baron” is therefore headline framing, not a confirmed description of a Rogue Ops mechanic. What is confirmed is a Hideout-and-crafting loop alongside unspecified smuggling activities. The precise goods and how those systems work have not been announced in the source.

When does Update 0.5 release?
MADFINGER’s announced schedule sets the Supporter Preview to begin October 19, 2026, followed by the full Rogue Ops launch on October 22, 2026. The studio says the preview is for Supporter Edition owners to try the update early and help identify remaining issues. These are announced dates, not completed events, and the schedule could change. The announcement does not establish other edition entitlements.
What gets wiped in the 0.5 soft wipe?
For players who participated in Update 0.4, MADFINGER says the soft wipe will clear locker contents and money while retaining rank, unlocked apparel, vendor levels and completed tasks. The studio says the split is intended to rebalance the in-game economy while preserving some progression. The wipe details are in the official Update 0.5 announcement.
