Shivon Zilis said in an October 2, 2026, post on X that she had gone “from in love to let go in a week with no warning.” Same-day reports identify Elon Musk as the person she was referring to and say the two have four children together. Her wording describes her account of the change; the available reporting does not establish why it happened or provide Musk’s account.
What Zilis said
“It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s just how it is sometimes,” Zilis wrote, according to Futurism and E! News. Futurism also reproduced her words, “I will miss him dearly.”
E! News characterized the relationship as having lasted more than five years. Both reports say Zilis and Musk have four children together.
What the reports establish—and what they do not
The public statement presents Zilis’s description of a sudden shift in the relationship. “Let go” is her wording; the cited coverage does not establish who initiated a breakup or explain the private circumstances behind it. Nor does it include an independently verified account from Musk.

Futurism reported that Zilis’s post included a screenshot of a message exchange in which a person identified as Musk discussed a dinner involving Chinese leader Xi Jinping. That is a description of material shown in the post, not independent authentication of the messages or their full context.
