What changed for 2026?
Jeep has consolidated the Wagoneer identity under the Jeep Grand Wagoneer name, adding Jeep badging and simplifying the lineup. The 2025 launch announcement describes a refreshed front fascia, chrome-free exterior details, new colors and wheel designs, and new trims and appearance packages, including Upland. The announcement also names two powertrain routes: the returning 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six and a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) planned for late availability. That wording establishes an announced future option, not that the REEV is currently on sale or orderable.
How much does the 2026 Grand Wagoneer cost?
There is no single price that captures every 2026 configuration. Jeep’s current model pages surfaced a $63,995 starting MSRP, with Limited listed from $72,060, Upland from $73,060, Limited Reserve from $79,960, Summit and Summit Obsidian from $94,310, and Summit Reserve from $100,310. Treat these as manufacturer-listed starting prices, not a quote for a specific vehicle; confirm current trim names, wheelbase, drivetrain, destination and options in Jeep’s live configuration tool. The difference between launch figures and prices now surfaced on Jeep’s pages is a reason to compare actual window stickers or dealer quotes—not assume an old starting price applies to a vehicle on a lot. Trim labels also differ between Jeep’s at-launch FAQ and its current specifications page.

The returning 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six in Standard Output form is rated by Jeep at 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. In Tom’s Guide’s weeklong test of a 2026 Limited Altitude, reviewer John Velasco described the engine as quick and quiet and judged performance a tie with the tested 2026 GMC Yukon 4WD Denali Ultimate. How much can the Grand Wagoneer tow?
Jeep advertises a maximum towing capacity of up to 10,000 pounds. That ceiling is not a rating for every Grand Wagoneer: AP News’ towing guide, drawing on Edmunds, says it requires four-wheel drive and the optional Heavy-Duty Trailer-Tow package, which includes an integrated trailer brake controller. What are fuel economy and range like?
Jeep’s FAQ states a range of 530 miles per full tank for the standard-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer and 579 miles for the Grand Wagoneer L. These are manufacturer-stated range claims, not EPA-certified range figures. Jeep’s FAQ also lists a 6,412-pound curb weight and a 7,700-pound gross vehicle weight rating; those published figures do not replace checking the specific vehicle’s door label and payload. Tom’s Guide lists 17 mpg city, 23 highway and 19 combined for the Limited Altitude it compared. In the same outlet’s weeklong observation, that Jeep averaged 18 mpg over 223 miles; the tested Yukon averaged 19.1 mpg over 206.6 miles. Is the cabin spacious enough for a family?
Jeep says the Grand Wagoneer can seat up to eight, depending on configuration. Tom’s Guide lists 36.6 inches of third-row legroom and 27.4 cubic feet of trunk space for the vehicle in its comparison, and describes the third row as adult-friendly. Seating layout and usable cargo space vary with configuration, so check the exact seating arrangement and cargo needs before choosing between standard and L wheelbases. How did it compare with the GMC Yukon?
Tom’s Guide compared a 2026 Grand Wagoneer Limited Altitude with a 2026 GMC Yukon 4WD Denali Ultimate in a weeklong review published September 27, 2026. The reviewer found performance a tie, liked the Jeep’s styling, and considered it a strong value against the more expensive Yukon. The Yukon won on comfort, with richer upholstery, massaging front seats and Super Cruise, and returned the higher observed average in that test. Those advantages are tied to the Denali Ultimate and the test conditions; they do not establish that every Yukon is more comfortable or more efficient than every Grand Wagoneer.
Who should consider the 2026 Grand Wagoneer?
It makes the most sense for buyers who want a full-size three-row SUV with a powerful standard-output inline-six, a cabin Jeep says can seat up to eight, and the option of serious towing when properly equipped. The value case depends on the chosen trim and equipment: a lower-priced configuration can look compelling beside a high-trim rival, while the Summit-level pricing approaches six figures. Buyers prioritizing the particular comfort features and driver assistance highlighted in Tom’s Guide’s Yukon comparison should compare equipment and pricing directly rather than assume the Jeep offers the same package.
